South Jersey Industries IT Compliance Analyst in Folsom, New Jersey

Position Summary

The IT Compliance Analyst is responsible to ensure South Jersey Industries Information Technology processes and solutions comply with existing and future regulations by supporting a risk driven approach. Responsibilities include recommendations on standardization of processes and controls, as well as influencing changes and decisions. Individual must have in-depth knowledge of business processes as well as process controls.

Essential Functions:

  • Reviews and manages responses to IT-related inquiries from internal and external auditors, and other partners or customers

  • Organizes and leads monthly, quarterly, and annual Audit reviews

  • Drive the remediation of IT control deficiencies Coordinate collection of audit documentation in support of implementation of new or upgraded applications

  • Evaluate regulations and guidelines for IT from the various regulatory bodies to which South Jersey Industries is accountable

  • Contribute to the continued development of internal controls awareness within the organization

  • Facilitation of IT SOX policies, narratives, and control self-assessment documentation

  • Coordinate weekly Change Management meeting and ensure proper approvals are in place for all Change Requests.Â

  • Create and maintain IT control documentation and knowledge repository

  • Develop and perform testing and evaluation plans for IT systems and controls to gauge conformity with regulations as well as industry standards of efficiency, accuracy and security

  • Participation in IT risk assessment activities across the organization, including 3rd party risk assessments

  • Coordinate annual Disaster Recovery testing per audit requirements

  • Participate in risk management, compliance, and internal control initiatives as needed

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.Â

  • Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or a related degree.

  • An additional two (2) years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Two (2) years of relevant Compliance experience in the Utilities industry


  • A proven deep understanding of IT industry standard governance and security models including COBIT, ITIL, and /or NIST CSF required

  • Effective communication and presentation skills

  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) or similar designation strongly preferred

  • Proven experience in performing IT Audit/ IT Compliance assessments/ Gap assessments, ideally for Sarbanes-Oxley, SSAE 16/ISAE 3402/SOC 1 or SOC 2


  • Able to communicate detail concepts and business risks

  • Must be able to work independently

  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office products)
