Founded in 1989, the Association of Energy Services Professionals (AESP) is a member-based 501c3 nonprofit organization currently serving 4,700+ members in the United States and Canada through its headquarters organization and 12 Regional Chapters. AESP is dedicated to ensuring a sustainable and resilient energy future through educating the energy industry on how to effectively develop, deliver, and implementequitablecustomer-centric energy efficiency, distributed energy resource, and demand flexibility programs for the electric and gas sectors. SUMMARY

The Training Manager reports to the Vice President of Programs and Educationandis responsible forthe strategy and execution of the organization’s AESP Academy-atraining portfolioincludingasynchronous online, instructor-led synchronous online, and in-person training courses. The Training Manager alsomaintainsand manages course documentation including AESP’s IACET accreditation and any qualificationsrequiredto offer PDHs or CEUs. Additionally, the Training Manager manages all training eventlogisticsand coordinates with instructors to deliver in-person and online training.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position can belocatedanywhere in the continental United States and work may be completed remotely. Air travel may berequiredtwo to four times annually to support in-person events. The organization will work with the successful candidate toidentifyand supply allappropriate resourcesnecessary to complete assigned tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • AESPAcademyStrategy and Planning

  • Work with stafftoidentifytraining needs, develop learning courses, and manage the trainingbudget

  • Coordinate with the Board of Directors Education and Publications Committee on trainers andcontent

  • Develop and execute annual Call for Trainers

  • Review and refine trainer compensationframework

  • Recruit, vet, and interview newtrainers

  • Manage trainingpartnerships

  • Assistwith grant writing and grant projectmanagement

  • AESP AcademyManagement

  • Serve as project manager fortraining / workforce development grants orprojects

  • Act as point of contact for instructors and hostcompanies

  • Act as lead liaison for external Instructional Design Contractor

  • Collect andfinalizepresentationdecks

  • Coordinate logistical details foronsiteand onlinetrainings

  • Print and ship training materials for onsitetrainings

  • Schedule and host online trainings

  • Maintain and distribute registration lists for trainings to instructors andstaff

  • Manageasynchronous courses within LMS(Learning Management Software)and AMS (Association Management System)

  • Create evaluations for attendee feedback and compile results for instructors andstaff

  • Register learner accounts inLMS (Learning Management Software)

  • Track all training-related revenue, expenses, and other data metricsfor organizational financials andgoals

  • IACET CEU Management

  • Createand managecourseand learnerfiles

  • Gradelearnertests

  • Log CEUs/PDHs for learnerfiles

  • MaintainAESPIACETstandards

  • LeadIACET re-accreditation

  • Notify attendees of their earned CEUs

  • Provide CEU certificates for those who met or exceeded IACET CEUrequirements

  • Conference Management

  • Develop CEUevaluation forms for conferences and pre/post-conference trainingcourses

  • Communicate with instructors and attendees prior to a pre/post-conferencetraining

  • Provide workbooks and other written materials for pre/post conferencetrainings

  • Manage pre/post-conferencetrainings

  • Assisteventsliaisonwith document and material shippingasneeded

  • Collect, compile, and calculate CEUevaluation forms after the conference/trainings

  • Notify attendees of their earned CEUs

  • Provide CEU certificates for those who met or exceeded IACET CEUrequirements

  • Hands-on experience coordinating multiple training events in a corporatesetting

  • Extensive knowledge of instructional design theory and implementation

  • Adequate knowledge of learning management systems and web delivery tools

  • Proven ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor,and evaluate)

  • Familiarity with traditional and modern job training methods and techniques

  • Experience with e-learningplatforms

  • MS Officeproficiency

  • Advancedproject management andorganizational skills with the ability to handle multipleassignments

  • Strong communicationskills

  • Experience and/or interest in the clean energy sector, including energy efficiency and demandflexibility

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Four-year degreein related fieldor equivalent from two-year college plus instructional design credentials

  • At least three years of experience as a Training Professional, Trainer, Training Facilitator, or similar role

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Training certification, including, but not limited to, these credentials preferred:

  • Associate Professional in Talent Development (APTD)

  • Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP)

  • Certified Professional in Training Management (CPTM)

  • Certified Instructional Designer/Developer (CIDD)

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
