Currently, we are seeking a Nuclear Radiation Protection Supervisor to join our team at our Turkey Point Nuclear Plant. The team is comprised of the industry's top Rad Protection professionals in this dual unit nuclear facility which is located in Key Largo, about eighteen miles north of the Florida Keys. Job Overview
This job supervises activities involving the coordination and maintenance of nuclear plant radiation monitoring programs. Employees in this role oversee investigations, inspections, surveys and tests to ensure compliance with Federal, State and organizational regulations pertaining to personnel radiation exposure, radioactive effluent releases, and radioactive concentrations in plant systems and the environment.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Provides first line supervision of Health Physics Technicians
Defines work activity, delegates responsibilities, and conducts performance management
Oversees projects, procedure development, revision and review, assessments, performance improvement initiatives, and corrective action
Coordinates and directs the planning, development, and implementation of a variety of radiation protection projects
Meets or exceeds site-specific ANSI standard requirements
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
High School Grad / GED
Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
Experience: 3+ years
Preferred Qualifications
- Nuclear Experience: 0+ years
Special Requirements
Nuclear Specific Requirements:
Bachelor's in Health Physics, related Physical Science Specialty or equivalent education and/or experience
Applied radiation protection or related experience: 3+ years
Related technical training: 2+ years
Experience working with federal regulatory and industry radiological protection program standards
Experience with nuclear plant design and operations affecting potential personnel radiation exposure
