Position Specific Description

Florida Power & Light Co., a subsidiary of Nextera Energy Inc. is seeking Nuclear Security Site Manager at their Turkey Point Nuclear Plant. This dual unit nuclear facility, located in the beautiful Florida City, FL, produces 100% carbon-free energy. The Nuclear Security Site Manager reports to the Nuclear Security Director and is responsible for implementation, administration and oversight of the physical security programs of the station, in accordance with NRC, state, local and organizational regulations and procedures.

Some Duties of the role include:

  • Ensure regulatory compliance for all security functions.

  • Establish/maintain necessary support agreements with appropriate governmental agencies.

  • Provide Site oversight and assistance to the Access Authorization/Fitness for Duty Program.

  • Responsible for the programming and budgeting of required manpower, services and security equipment.

  • Provide for security force training and proficiency to meet capabilities as measured by the triennial NRC FOF exercises.

  • Also responsible for the oversight, coordination and interface for contracted security services for the Site.

Job Overview

Employees in this role implement, administer and oversee the physical security programs of the station in accordance with NRC, state, local and organizational regulations and procedures. And ensure regulatory compliance for all security functions.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Establishes and maintains support agreements with appropriate governmental agencies

  • Oversees and assists the Access Authorization/Fitness for Duty Program (AA/FFD)

  • Manages security programs and budgets for security staff, services and equipment

  • Oversees and establishes security force training and proficiencies to meet capabilities as measured by the NRC Force-on-Force (FOF) exercises

  • Coordinates, oversees and interfaces with contracted security services for the site

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree

  • Experience: 7+ years

  • Supervisor/Management Experience: 3+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree

Special Requirements

Nuclear Specific Requirements:

  • Associate's in Criminal Justice or Security

  • Nuclear, military police operations/training or law enforcement experience: 5+ years

  • Operations, Maintenance, Security, Nuclear Support Services, or Engineering/Technical experience

Nuclear Specific Preferences:

  • Bachelor's in Criminal Justice, Security or Management

  • Experience with U.S. NRC regulations, agencies and other regulators
