Position Specific Description

The position will be based at our Plant Turkey Point facility located in Florida City, FL.

Job Overview

Employees in this senior non-supervisory position within the Security organization ensure defensive strategies inclusive of all component programs and agency interfaces are current to real world threats. The scope of duties includes, but is not limited to, the Physical Security Plan, Cyber Security Plan, Target Sets, Contingency Procedures, Force-on-Force drills and exercises, current threat intelligence assessment and safety-security interfaces with other departments.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides real-time monitoring, assessment, and reaction elements to maintain the physical security function effectiveness and regulatory compliance

  • Determines applicability of threat intelligence, makes force posture recommendations, and advises plant work organizations of security operational and regulatory impacts

  • Functions as qualified cyber security assessment team member and supports review of items presented

  • Reviews, drafts and implements revisions to the NRC approved physical security plan and provides regulatory review to verify revisions can be implemented without a reduction in effectiveness

  • Reviews, drafts and processes target set revisions and leads annual cross-departmental target set review team

  • Monitors and assesses threat intelligence from various agencies and other sources and recommends local and fleet action when threats are deemed credible

  • Reviews plant and security work to avoid adverse impact on security or plant operations and conducts security impact

  • Supports plant outage activities including barrier placement, shipment searches, security compensatory actions, and stationing of personnel

  • Provides technical direction to less experienced security analysts

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED

  • Associate's or Equivalent Experience

  • Experience: 6+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree

  • Technical Certificate Program

  • Nuclear Experience: 3+ years

  • Supervisor/Management Experience: 2+ years

Special Requirements

Nuclear Specific Requirements:

  • Associate's or Technical Certificate demonstrating post-secondary education

  • Min Exp in Lieu of Degree: 10+ years

  • Experience and/or demonstrated proficiency in critical position skills can be accepted in lieu of education

  • Military, law enforcement, regulatory, civilian security or nuclear power plant operations experience in which self-defense against an armed aggressor was a mission essential task: 7+ years

  • Experience with typical security equipment capability, operations, limitations, maintenance and use

Nuclear Specific Preferences:

  • Advanced firearms proficiency; experience with major industry facility self-defense tactics and strategies; advanced experience with nominal physical security plan requirements and implementation methodologies

  • Experience managing a contingent work force

  • Nuclear power plant security experience
