Everyone has an important role in accomplishing these objectives! In the Cost Accountant role, the following activities are performed:
Involvement in the capital process from determination of whether a project is eligible for capitalization through final plant-in-service classification while adhering to accounting guidance
Collaborate and communicate effectively with stakeholders to complete construction projects in a timely manner
Account for jointly owned generation plant costs as a part of month-end close responsibilities
Assist the Lead Cost Accountant with maintaining our fixed asset system, including system integrations, resolving issues, and implementing enhancements.
Coordinate the workflow of project statuses between our different operating systems

To be successful in this role, a degree in accounting, business, or equivalent is required.
An ideal Cost Accountant easily comprehends how information gets to and from different systems.
An intrinsically motivated individual that can pair efficiency with accuracy will feel good about the results that they achieve.
An individual who can evaluate facts and apply judgement in areas where the answer is not always clear will thrive.
Excellent time management skills and an analytical mindset are a must.
A successful candidate will be able to work independently and interact with the team to re-prioritize workload as necessary to meet business needs.

The expected base compensation for this role is $52,000 - $65,000 annually. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
