What you will be doing

  • Engage with a dynamic team of contracted and field operations personnel to enhance the safety and reliability of Vectren’s natural gas assets; protecting the public, our customers, and employees

  • Represent the Integrity Management department in Vectren’s operating divisions, establishing strong relationships with the operating and engineering personnel and providing expertise in Integrity Management initiatives.

  • Oversee Integrity Management procedures and activities associated with transmission pipelines: direct examinations, casing removals, indirect surveys, cleaning, in-line inspections, station and equipment inspections

  • Inspect and oversee field activities to determine pipeline integrity, ensuring compliance with pipeline safety regulations

  • Identify and manage resources (internal or external) required for repairs or assessments

  • Manage multiple assignments and priorities concurrently, while looking for ways to continuously improve our processes to gain efficiencies and make your job easier!

  • Develop relationships with internal and external customers where you will be working to meet and exceed their expectations daily

  • Working on cross-functional teams throughout the company and industry and leading through influencing

  • Develop industry specific skills, knowledge, and an understanding of engineering and operations and maintenance standards, compliance, and integrity management rules

  • Participate in emergency response activities as needed or support company operations during periods of labor unrest

What you bring

  • A High School degree or equivalent

  • 6 years of technical experience in natural gas pipeline construction, integrity assessment, or operations

It would be awesome if you have:

  • Post-secondary education credit hours

  • CP 1 – NACE Technician certification or equivalent training

  • Non-destructive testing certification

  • Experience in direct pipeline construction or operations, including experience in responsible charge of inspection duties

  • Experience in Failure Analysis or Root Cause

  • Knowledge of gas transmission systems and integrity management

  • Experience with AutoCAD, Geographical Information Systems, Enterprise Asset Management systems or similar applications
