Energy Sales Manager - ENE00558

CenterPoint Energy is looking for an Energy Sales Manager to join our Energy Solutions and Business Services Team , located in Evansville, IN .

You will have the ability to: develop and execute strategies to attract, grow, and retain the industrial customer base and will be responsible for increasing industrial customer margin. This position is also responsible, at times, to assist in developing new company business initiatives to increase the number of residential and small commercial customers.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Oversee the development and implementation of plans and programs that will encourage new industries and other large customers to locate in the service territory.

  • In cooperation of other leadership with oversight over residential and commercial sales, develop and implement plans and programs that will encourage new residential and commercial customers to use the company’s energy services.

  • Strengthen relationships and gain actionable insights that drive value for industrial customers and CenterPoint and improve customer commitment.

  • Lead the company's efforts in assisting large customers with service interruptions, billing, energy management, contractual processes, regulatory changes in tariffs, strategic planning initiatives.

  • Lead the company's efforts in negotiating non-standard contract with the large industrial customers. Support testimony for rate case and contracts relating to CenterPoint's large industrial customer base.

  • Lead by example and demonstrate alignment to corporate values and business objectives.

  • Demonstrate personal integrity, teamwork, people skills, and customer focus.

  • Develop alternative energy solution plans regarding new service offerings. Achieve throughput and margin goals established by CenterPoint.

  • Responsible for the oversight of program designs, implementation plans, marketing plans, and evaluation plans.

  • Ensured all deliverables, budgets, and staffing are successfully managed.

  • Responsible for the reporting of all aspects of large account activity to internal stakeholders, external parties, and regulatory parties when necessary.

  • Provide oversight and direction for the large industrial key account programs to ensure the right parties and/or individuals are informed and involved in the processes and issues.

  • Ensure Key Account Profiles are developed and maintained for industrial customers.

  • In partnership with Credit & Collections and Treasury confirm or refute credit worthiness and reduce company risk for large industrial customers.

Your background includes:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in business, economics, marketing or related degree from an accredited college or university.

  • Requires seven (7) years of experience in customer relations or a closely related field.

  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills, ability to interact with all levels of customers and employees.

  • Ability to present analysis to senior level management.

  • Contract negotiation and management skills.

A bonus to have:

  • MBA

  • Demonstrated success in fostering large customer relationships and experience providing creative customer energy solutions.

  • Utility experience and an understanding of the fundamental market changes taking place in the utility industry.
