As the Auxiliary Equipment Operator , you will provide uninterrupted Electric service to the service area. You will also be responsible for operating safely, efficiently and within environmental parameters; monitor and operate power plant equipment associated with steam generator and auxiliary systems and record operating parameters.…

Specifically, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Operate valves

  • Start and stop rotating equipment

  • Run fly ash and dumping pyrites

  • Monitor and maintain lubricating systems

  • Perform simple maintenance using hand tools

  • Issue and pick up lock-out/tag-out clearances

  • Act as a first responder to environmental spills

  • General plant housekeeping activities

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school or GED

  • Position involves working twelve-hour rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays and overtime

  • Work outside in all types of weather conditions.

  • Work overtime when required

Preferred Experience, Education and Skills:

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Process experience

  • Work overtime when required

Work Conditions:

  • Must be able to work in cold and hot temperatures, noisy environments, at height, and be able to wear and use a respirator

  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders, walk inclines, kneel, bend, crawl, stand, sit, lift and carry fifty pounds, and operate pick-up truck, fork lift and UTV

  • Must be able to communicate effectively via phone and radio

  • Required to be available to work overtime
