Job Summary

Assist the Benefits Administration Accounting team within the Financial Services team in the administering health & welfare invoices, posting of payrolls into the accounting system, record monthly journal entries, assist with monthly and quarterly close of books, and account reconciliations.

Essential Functions

  • Administer health & welfare invoices

  • Post bi-weekly, off-cycle, and monthly payrolls into accounting system

  • Generate reports from the payroll system for management

  • Reconcile various payroll and benefits related GL accounts at month-end

  • Prepare accruals related to the Company’s Short-term Incentive Plan and Savings Plan (401K)

  • Prepare journal entries for Stock Based Compensation and various other executive benefit programs such as Deferred compensation, Corporate Owned Life Insurance, Split Dollar Life Insurance, and Supplemental Executive Retirement Plan

  • Assist with month and quarter end close of books in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

  • Record journal entries as part of the close process

  • Accurately complete assignments and tasks, while paying attention to detail and processes

  • Consistently manage time and resources to appropriately prioritize and complete goals and objectives

  • Utilize SAP for research and reporting

  • Assist in testing internal controls within Financial Services department (SO 404)

  • Support on-going efforts towards processes to continue to manage risk and improve operational efficiencies and continuous improvement opportunities

Education Description

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management or MBA in the absence of a bachelor’s degree in the preferred fields

Experience

  • 0- 2 years of relevant work experience required

  • Preferred – experience with SAP or other ERP system

Physical Requirements

  • Able to hear oral communication either in person or on equipment such as telephone or mobile phone.

  • Able to operate a personal computer, either desktop or laptop, for extended periods.

  • Able to reach, grasp and move items.

  • Able to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time.

  • Able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Working Conditions

  • Able to support the Emergency Operating Plan.

  • Able to work indoors, in an office environment, regardless of whether open office, cubicle or private office.

  • Able to travel occasionally, possibly overnight.

  • Able to work in a hybrid workplace.
