Spire is seeking an Automation/Instrumentation Tech II to work in our Evanston, WY office.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Tests, calibrates and adjusts large capacity meters and other measuring and regulating equipment in the field used in recording volumes of gas.

• Understand gas composition.

• Replaces worn parts and reassembles meters and equipment and monitors for, as well as implements, equipment changes.

• Operates and maintains gas measurement equipment GC’s, flow elements, H2S, H2O, and analyzer.

• Ensure BLM guidelines are followed and maintain strong working relationship with agency

• Responsible for documenting, recording, and correcting audit findings

• Ability to understand the analysis from gas chromatographic to ensure calibrations are accurate

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • None

Required Education (certifications, licenses)

  • High School Diploma or GED required

Required knowledge, skill and abilities

  • 5 years' experience diagnosing and troubleshooting electronic equipment

  • Ability to read mechanical or electrical blueprints and sketches

  • Basic IP networking knowledge

  • Familiar with communication equipment, regulators and control valves, PLCs and RTUs, radios/repeaters, calibration/test equipment, electronic and pneumatic test equipment

  • Basic understanding of gas pressure and flow control systems

  • Previous training in industrial electronics, and gas measurement and control

  • Basic knowledge of ABB Total Flow and Gas Chromatograph, DeltaV DCS, Allen-Bradley PLC, and others

Physical demands, environment and schedule

  • Work Environment - Work is performed in an office/ plant environment outdoors and in all weather conditions

  • Work Hours: 6:00am-6:00pm

  • Occasional over-time
