The Eugene Water & Electric Board is seeking a Network Administrator with a diverse set of skills to contribute expertise in the following areas:
Implementation of complex Layer 2 & 3 networks.
Routing concepts and protocols.
Implementation of solutions based on architectural designs.
Cisco and Palo Alto Firewalls, and Firewall concepts.
Cisco based Wireless Infrastructure support.
Analysis of network infrastructure, and provide recommendations for improvements to ensure optimal performance.
The Network Administrator will have the opportunity to work in a diverse and complex technology environment supporting internal and external customers.

Minimum Training and Experience Required
Requirements As A Qualification & Progression
Minimum Experience: Four years of progressively responsible experience in Local Area Network, server administration, and workstation hardware and software support. Experience must include two or more of the following areas: network design, layer 2 networking, layer 3 networking, firewall management, or wireless.
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology or related field with technical courses in Networks and other IT infrastructure, server and personal computer hardware, operating system software or other applicable technical education.
Desirable education, experience, training and certifications: Preferred experience with technology from vendors: Cisco, Microsoft, Red Hat, Interactive Intelligence, Palo Alto.
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be qualifying.
Valid driver license: Yes, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of appointment.
Professional license or registration: None.

Type and frequency of personal contact required (general public, customers, organizations, and EWEB employees): Daily personal and telephone contact with EWEB employees and regular contact with personnel from other organizations. Frequent contact with hardware/software vendors via their telephone customer support function.
