Quality Engineering Manager - BWX Technologies, Inc. - Euclid, Ohio
Quality Engineer Manager oversees the development and implementation of quality processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency.
Manage the Quality Engineers, Dimensional Examiners and A&T Quality Technicians to ensure individual performance is of the highest expectations.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations’ policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Manage individual qualifications to support dimensional and functional testing at the A&T facility.
Facilitate inspection personnel qualification program/maintenance, through management of dimensional inspection examiners.
Ensure safe and efficient operations.
Assist in new capital procurements.
Manage budgets and forecasts.
Perform Estimate at completion (EAC) review and analysis.
Contribute to continuous process improvement with the use of quality metrics to justify design, development testing, and implementation of new production methods, measurement systems, and workforce applications.
Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering.
Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory/leadership experience in the field or related area.
Minimum of five (5) years of precision manufacturing/quality inspection experience with a working knowledge of GD&T principles (ANSI Y 14.5).
Minimum of two (2) years of Quality Management System experience (ISO 9000) preferred.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents, business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively communicate with direct reports, peers, across departments, and when interviewing others for job openings.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers throughout the company.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to effectively facilitate training sessions.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.
