Quality Engineering Manager - BWX Technologies, Inc. - Euclid, Ohio

Quality Engineer Manager oversees the development and implementation of quality processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Quality Engineers, Dimensional Examiners and A&T Quality Technicians to ensure individual performance is of the highest expectations.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations’ policies and applicable laws.

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Manage individual qualifications to support dimensional and functional testing at the A&T facility.

  • Facilitate inspection personnel qualification program/maintenance, through management of dimensional inspection examiners.

  • Ensure safe and efficient operations.

  • Assist in new capital procurements.

  • Manage budgets and forecasts.

  • Perform Estimate at completion (EAC) review and analysis.

  • Contribute to continuous process improvement with the use of quality metrics to justify design, development testing, and implementation of new production methods, measurement systems, and workforce applications.

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory/leadership experience in the field or related area.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of precision manufacturing/quality inspection experience with a working knowledge of GD&T principles (ANSI Y 14.5).

  • Minimum of two (2) years of Quality Management System experience (ISO 9000) preferred.

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents, business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with direct reports, peers, across departments, and when interviewing others for job openings.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers throughout the company.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to effectively facilitate training sessions.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.
