The Senior Specialist receives, processes & coordinates various Crane requests, interfaces with vendors, internal & external clients, as the first point of contact for crane inquiries, creates cost estimates, answers general questions, invoice processing. Reports to the Manager 1 who provides oversight and guidance of work being performed and provides back up support in the absence of Senior Specialist. Daily decisions including choosing the correct equipment for the job ensuring the safest and most cost-effective process for achieving the work. Maintain proper regulatory and compliance procedures, ensuring schedules are updated and accurate. Engage with clients to gain trust and establish strong working relationships. Job site hazard analysis with an emphasis on safety.

  • Responsible for processing Crane requests.

  • Processing invoices.

  • Material & Supply ordering.

  • Annual Permit tracking and upkeep.

  • Office filing and file maintenance.

  • Daily interaction with internal and external clients.

  • Some after-hours emergency rotation responsibility.

  • Job walks and work method plans related to Crane Operations.

  • Provides Technical Support and job coordination to include cost estimates.

  • Provides consulting Services on an as needed basis to Department and Division Management on Crane lift projects i.e. Deteriorated pole, Distribution cut over projects, Transmission Tower Replacement projects, storm support.

  • Recognize internally & externally as expert in field of crane & heavy construction equipment

  • Provides technical support while interfacing with Regulatory Agencies for FAA and encroachment permitting of Crane in public thoroughfares

  • Processes and schedules cranes both internal and external utilizing SAP, Word, Excel, Google earth, FAA E file system & Outlook.

  • Processes supplier invoices, processes Service Entry Sheets via SAP and ARIBA.

  • Completes SAP Crane Notification tasks with tracking of costs, equipment & time for accurate KPI reporting for both internal Crane Utilization and on time delivery crane services.

  • Processes workflow service entry sheets requests from Accounts Payable (AP).

  • Monitor purchase order spend, processes change order and works with procurement to establish new purchase orders.

  • Overtime on an as needed basis (vacation coverage, duty rotation, etc.).

  • Selects external crane vendors for Crane Ops.

  • Conducts safety/tailboard and has Supervisory experience with contractors/maintenance trades.

  • Conducts safety observations weekly with corrective actions plans as needed and online submittals.

Qualifications

The essentials

Bachelors degree or equivalent combination education, training and experience.

California Drivers License

Minimum (5) years of experience in construction scheduling

General Knowledge of Hydraulic Truck Cranes with an understanding of Load Charts.

General Knowledge of measuring tools/instruments i.e. range finders, wheels etc.

Ability to perform job walks as directed to determine job scope radius’ with an understanding of cranes load capacities

Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook

The preferred

Experience utilizing Google Earth, FAA E File system

Excel, pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s

Processing and Reporting using SAP and Ariba

SharePoint maintain and create

(5) years of experience in Crane industry

You should know

This position’s work mode is *hybrid. * The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.

  • The primary work location for this position is Etiwanda . However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time at (alternate work location).

  • Position will require up to 10% traveling and being out in the field throughout Etiwanda .
