Automation Specialist 2 -- Nuclear Fuel Services - Erwin, TN
Summary Description of Job:
Develops the design and installation requirements for automation hardware and software necessary to support Engineering projects. Supports troubleshooting and problem resolution for automation hardware/software issues affecting operations.
Major Duties and Responsibilities of Job:
Performs automation hardware/software design functions independently with minimal supervisory oversight.
Reviews proposed designs and recommends changes that will improve cost, efficiency, and safety.
Provides technical support to operations to resolve problems with automation hardware and/or software issues.
Provides technical support for installation and maintenance of process instrumentation and PLC hardware.
Specifies automation systems in accordance with NEC, ISA, and NFS standards
Guides, directs, and consults with A/E firms, vendors, and construction contractors, as required, to fulfill assigned projects.
Responsible for individual assignments on project teams.
Educational Requirements of Job:
A. S. -- Electronics or related field OR Equivalent experience acceptable in lieu of a degree in the amount of 4 years' relevant experience.
Experience Requirements (Beyond educational or equivalent):
With A. S. Degree it requires six years' experience in PLC hardware/software design and/or troubleshooting OR without A. S. degree it requires 10 years' relevant experience in PLC hardware/software design and/or troubleshooting.
Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. Position requires U.S. Citizenship (with no dual citizenship) and ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance which involves an extensive criminal and financial background investigation and previous employment reference verifications.
