GENERAL SUMMARY/PRIMARY FUNCTION
Responsible for understanding, upholding and promoting CSG’s Critical Success Factors, 1) Safety First!; 2) Financial Success (including operational excellence); 3) Employee Satisfaction (including development and training), and 4) Customer Satisfaction. Promote Duro Electric’s Core Values and safety culture. Embrace, support, and promote the four critical success factors of Safety First, Employee Satisfaction, Customer Satisfaction, and Financial Success. Effective oral and written communication interpersonal skills, while maintaining confidentiality to the highest degree is crucial. Plan, implement and supervise project safety, accident and fire protection programs in compliance with corporate safety program standards.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Control hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities through safety management and contracting supervisory personnel.
Supervise and administer safety/first aid and rescue squad activities including work assignments, personnel administration, staffing, training, etc.
Assist corporate program by developing employee and craft safety orientation training program and implement upon completion.
Coordinate and document safety training of craft personnel as needed.
Conduct work area inspections, air sampling tests for confined space entry, property damage and personal injury investigations.
Document all accidents, safety violations, unsafe conditions and activities. Issue confined area entry and “hot work” permits as required.
Review documentation to insure all required records and reports are complete, accurate and submitted per established procedures, and implement appropriate corrective action as required.
Accompany all safety, health and insurance inspectors on walk through tours. Coordinate/assist in preparing written appeals for safety violation citations.
Safely drive various vehicles. Obtain, as necessary, all moving permits, licenses, titles, safety checks, etc. as required by corporate policy, state or federal regulations or client requirements.
Assist in scheduling rental equipment for job sites and maintain billings.
This position is required to drive.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Educational and experience requirements include: Four-year occupational safety/health degree or equivalent combinations of training and related experience. Minimum of five years construction and/or industrial safety experience. Thorough understanding of and ability to enforce all federal, state, local, and company regulations. Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures is essential. Must have safe driving record and a valid driver’s license according to legal requirements.
KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and complete projects on schedule. Advanced knowledge and skills in the use of various Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills are essential. Must maintain confidentiality and contribute to a team-oriented work environment.
Background check, credit check, MVR, Physical Abilities Test, and drug screen may be required (will vary with position).
Individual salaries will be assigned based on consideration of a combination of industry experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other factors pertaining directly to the essential functions of the job.
