Greensville County Power Station has officially joined Dominion Energy Virginia’s fleet of clean, safe and efficient natural gas-fueled electric generating units.
The station, located a few miles west of Emporia, completed testing and began generating electricity for the company’s 2.6 million customers Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018 . The station can generate 1,588 megawatts of electricity, producing enough power to light, heat and cool nearly 400,000 homes.
The qualified Electrical Engineering intern candidate will work supporting the operation of a diverse unit power station. The incumbent will work under the direction of a Dominion Energy Supervisor, Manager Power Generation Site.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Working knowledge of engineering theories and principles.
Ability to think analytically and solve engineering problems.
Ability to process information and effectively manage multiple tasks.
Strong planning, organizational and project management skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing).
Strong personal computer skills.
Equally effective working independently or in team environment.
Able to work as team player and work with various groups in the station to provide a user friendly product.
Willing to get into the field and perform hands on evaluation of plant modifications
Will need to have a valid driver's license
Must be enrolled in 4-year Electrical Engineering degree program at an ABET-accredited institution
Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; 3.0 or higher preferred.
Must have a graduation date of Spring 2023 or later.
