Hiring Salary Range: $86.900 - $130,400

Compensation is determined by a combination of factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, and certifications. The actual offer may vary, reflecting the candidate's unique blend of experience, educational background, and skill level.

The Impact You'll Make in this Role:

This position will provide support for the planning and scheduling of operations tasks and maintenance work utilizing the Enterprise Asset Management software (EAM) as the primary tool. This position will be responsible for maintaining accurate asset records, standard job plans, job histories, work order closure, preventive and predictive maintenance activities, projects, purchase requisitions, and maintaining associated records. This position will also report on maintenance and operations activities through key performance indicators.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. The position will have Planning Responsibilities for the generating assets below through the effective implementation of the Job Functions listed:

• Flambeau Hydroelectric Station

• Elk Mound Combustion Turbines

• RockGen Energy Center

  1. Prepare request for proposal (RFP) and request for quotation (RFQ) and coordinate with sites, management, and purchasing to identify vendors and evaluate bids.

  2. Prepare detailed work order packages as needed for maintenance work and capital project work to include craft requirements, tools and equipment requirements, clearances and permits, work methods, plans, specs and/or manuals, and identify need for coordination instructions for cross-craft, foreign utilities, or outside services. Evaluate completed WOs for opportunities to improve estimates and work methods.

  3. Assist in developing and updating equipment master records, including parts lists, inspections, preventive maintenance (PM) requirements, and all associated asset data. Enter new equipment records for replacements, projects, and capital improvements, including appropriate parts lists and baseline data. Assist in evaluating equipment histories to identify failure trends and improvement opportunities. Recommend adjustments to processes, methods, planning, and scheduling to address unfavorable trends.

  4. Determine material and parts availability as part of the work order planning process. Originates stores requests and purchase requisitions as needed.

  5. Review scoped work orders with maintenance management & forepersons to ensure agreement with scope, methods, time & craft requirements before scheduling. Assists in work schedule development and planning.

  6. Estimate the cost of all planned maintenance work using historical information, applicable standards, and personal judgment. Assist in preparation of department budgets as requested, especially in relation to planned maintenance and capital projects.

  7. Assist in the development and systemization of new PMs/PdMs required by new equipment. Support and promote overall work management philosophy for existing equipment.

  8. Evaluate and request inventory to management/supply chain personnel with appropriate min/max levels. Evaluate increasing/decreasing requirements and new stock items.

  9. Act as a member of a team to evaluate, recommend and document procedures and initiatives that provide for the efficient operation and maintenance of equipment and systems. Assist in the development of improved operational and maintenance practices, especially as related to new processes associated with maintenance assets.

  10. Coordinate services and activities to be performed by outside vendors. Assist plant staff with oversight of vendors performing maintenance and/or project work at the facilities.

  11. Participate as a member of corrective action plan, root cause analysis and other teams as needed to ensure successful utilization of the established work processes by maintenance personnel in addressing issues and developing solutions.

  12. Performs all other duties, tasks and responsibilities that may be assigned by authorized personnel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience: Associate degree in mechanical, electrical, instrument or other relevant Engineering field, or other degree relevant to generation operations/maintenance is required. A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in generation maintenance, operations, or planning/engineering is required. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Skills:

• Knowledge of the operation, maintenance, design and construction of electrical generating facilities and related equipment.

• Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with individuals at various levels both internally and externally.

• Awareness of pertinent regulations, codes, and standards.

• EAM/CMMS experience

• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Dynamics365)

• Ability to multitask with competing demands

Environmental Demands : Work indoors with occasional outdoor work at substations, power line rights-of-way, and power plants. Outdoor work may occur in various weather conditions and near electrical hazards. Must be able to traverse uneven terrain.

Other Job Characteristics: On-call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Primary office work location in Elk Mound WI but can be flexible based on the various locations of DPC generating assets. Flexibility to travel between generating assets is necessary. It is estimated that a minimum of 50% of the employee’s time will be spent at the DPC generating assets.
