We are seeking Sr. Wind Turbine Reliability Engineers to join our team! This role will directly affect the availability and profitability of our wind turbine assets by conducting root cause investigations and implementing corrective actions to equipment issues and other sources of unreliability.
You will be interacting closely with multiple subject areas across the organization including Safety, Operations, Field Service, Engineering and Supply Chain Management to accomplish these tasks.

What you will do
Responsible for the identification and resolution of complex Wind Turbine equipment reliability issues through SCADA data, component reliability data analysis and hands on inspections and troubleshooting to provide immediate, positive availability gains.
Lead and provide critical insight and resolutions regarding wind turbine equipment failure through root cause analyses with a focus on Vestas Wind turbine equipment. Make decisions based on RCA and implements action plans to partners at all levels in the organization.
Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programs and reliability models for Vestas Wind turbine equipment to support critical business decisions.
As an industry expert in this field, this role is responsible for development and management proposals for facility/equipment upgrades and replacements and provides direction to on such to Regional Managers or Plant Managers.
Provide critical infrastructure oversight through oversight of planning, implementing, and validating corrective actions to equipment failures.
Lead teams of cross organizational experts such as reliability engineering managers, service engineers, electrical engineers and plant managers and guide to identify equipment reliability issues and performance shortfalls.
Who you are
You have the following qualifications and skills:
Bachelor’s Engineering degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field and a minimum 8 years of wind industry or equivalent combination of education and experience
Thorough knowledge of wind turbine equipment maintenance and operations
Knowledge of technical root cause analysis methodologies.
In depth knowledge of Vestas wind turbines and their systems is considered a strong plus
Highly motivated and able to work and produce results independently with minimal guidance
Working Conditions
Office environment with up to 20% travel to field locations and industry conferences based on permanent work location
Wind turbine site environment to monitor and observe work performed. Applicant must be able to climb vertical stationary ladders inside wind turbine towers to heights greater than 250 feet
Occasionally, employee may be required to work in adverse outdoor weather conditions in temperatures greater than 35C and lower than -20C
Travel will be required for training and other company business.
Environment is fast-paced and deliverables based with competing deadlines to support aggressive operating reliability and cost goals

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:
Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 45 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand sophisticated problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, coordinate and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and connect with individuals via telephone.
