Please note that this is a Temporary Fixed-term position for 12 months.
What you will do
Instructional Design Specialist Services:
Lead the design, development and implementation of new asynchronous and synchronous online, and instructor-led classroom-based learning materials.
Review and revise existing online learning content and activities.
Project Management:
Develop project plans and schedules, including timelines, milestones, and deadlines.
Coordinate project tasks with team members and partners, including subject matter experts, course owners, and vendors.
Advisory/Consultation to Clients on Learning & Development Practices:
- Consult on and provide guidance on standards, processes and best practices in Instructional Design including needs assessment, content analysis, learning design, assessing learning and program assessment.
Educational Technology Best Practices:
Lead Enterprise Instructional Design Community of Practice.
Document and communicate best practices to ensure learning development practices are consistent and up to date.
Evaluate, apply and recommend strategies to develop SCORM compliant eLearning materials.
Who you are
Required:
Post-secondary degree in Adult Learning, Instructional Design, Instructional Technology (or equivalent).
Four or more years of directly related experience in the area of Instructional Design. Equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
Proven skills in client consultation, project management, needs assessment, training design and development and evaluation methodologies.
Strong project management skills.
Preferred:
Fluency in French language (speaking and writing).
Master’s Degree in Adult Learning, Instructional Design, Instructional Technology (or equivalent).
Project Management related certification (e.g., PMP, Agile/Scrum).
Human Resources experience is an asset but is not required.
Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:
Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
Mental Requirements (Both Field & Office) include but are not limited to:
Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
