Job Summary

PSE&G is seeking a new member for the Technical Training team within the Centralized Services organization at our Edison, NJ location. The team performs analysis, design, development and evaluation of technical training for PSE&G line of business clients. This position will have a focus on technical skills training and course development for apprentice and incumbent employee training in accordance with their job specifications, collective bargaining obligations and regulatory requirements across Electric, Gas, and Customer Operations.

The role will be primarily responsible for creating meaningful and impactful learning content as a result of analysis, and presenting learning prototypes to subject matter experts to receive feedback. The Training & Development Specialist – Instructional Design will be developing into a consultant, who can influence company processes and practices, but may require assistance and guidance from seasoned Instructional Design Training & Development Specialists / Managers. The individual will have periodic interaction with Senior Leadership and have some direct influence on decision-makers. Assists instructors in developing new curriculum or revising current training programs. Leads teams (Bargaining Unit associates and MAST, SMEs, and field personnel) to develop training curriculum content. This role is eligible for overtime. (Second in a three person progression.)

Job Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement learning materials utilizing the ADDIE instructional design model.

• Develop relationships with subject matter experts to identify training needs and related content

• Collaborates with team members to understand impacts to training material from the results of Level 1 and Level 2 assessments, as well as performance feedback from the operating units.

• Gather and input data to create assessments and learning items

• Use learning technology to create online courses

• Use learning technology to support instructors and training managers

• Candidate must be available in case of a storm emergency to support staging area assignments.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required

• BS / BA degree in Instructional Design, Learning Tech, Business (with Instructional Design experience), Education or similar field with at least three years of relevant work experience

• 3-7 years of experience or equivalent in the facilitation, analysis, and evaluation processes of instructional design (ADDIE)

• Demonstrated instructional design ability with a proven ability to gather and synthesize data to design/develop meaningful learning content.

• Strong planning and organizing skills to be both adaptable and results-oriented

• Experience with software packages appropriate for the department: skilled in MS Office software, Articulate 360, SuccessFactors LMS, and Questionmark On-Demand

• Relevant work experience that demonstrates an ability to handle work assignments

• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

• Ability to build strong relationships with clients

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and maintain a safe driving record

• Storm Duty – will be called upon to support storm duty as needed

Desired

• Experience leading learning design projects

• Experience managing data and analyzing Level 1 and Level 2 results to identify revisions to training material utilizing MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Visio and other software tools

• Experience presenting recommendations for actions/decisions to management

• Utility experience (Gas and/or Electric)
