Job Summary

PSE&G is seeking a new member for the Technical Training team within the Centralized Services organization at our Edison, NJ location. The team performs analysis, design, development, and evaluation of technical training for PSE&G line of business clients. This position will have a focus on computer applications and systems training and course development for apprentice and incumbent employees across Electric, Gas, and Customer Operations.

The role has primary responsibility to provide training on systems and applications used by the associates in the field including Mobile Workforce Management System (MWMS), Operations Management System (OMS), CAD, SAP, etc. The successful candidate will advance the training that supports a safe, skilled and efficient utility work force working in concert with a team of training professionals. Provide assistance in other instructional areas / activities, such as instructional skills development. The position works with process owners and process improvement managers across the utility to establish process efficiency. Therefore, the position requires strong internal and external relationship building skills and behaviors and to be proactively involved with all clients in order to stay abreast of changes relevant to effective training programs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Instruct field systems training courses at the training centers and at local offices.

  • Update and development content utilizing the ADDIE instructional design model.

  • Develop relationships with subject matter experts to identify training needs and related content.

  • Use learning technology to provide training, assess students, and complete surveys.

  • Candidate must be available in case of a storm emergency to support staging area assignments.

Job Specific Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Graduate or GED with 5 years of experience in the technology field; or bachelor’s degree with 3 years of experience in the technology field

  • Demonstrated experience in training/educating others using methodologies: analysis, design, development, evaluation, and alternative delivery methods, including eLearning or virtual instruction applications

  • Demonstrated ability to cross-train to expand skill sets and competencies into multiple topics/disciplines

  • Demonstrated experience in computer applications, including Microsoft Office software

  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills; capable of making effective oral presentations

  • Project management related experience

  • Possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and maintain a safe driving record

  • Storm Duty – will be called upon to support storm duty as needed

Desired:

  • Experience in related course curriculum and adult learning concepts.

  • Experience with instructional/learning design
