Eversource Energy Shift Supervisor, LNG (Easton, MA) in Easton, Massachusetts

The LNG Shift Supervisor will be qualified to perform all yard operations and will be qualified to instruct, train, and directly supervise operations and LNG Shift Supervisor Trainees, by having successfully completed the LNG Shift Supervisor curriculum. The LNG Shift Supervisor duties include but are not limited to: control room DCS monitoring, LNG tank boil off operations, truck loading/unloading, general transfers, and vaporization/sendout.

The LNG Shift Supervisor duties include but are not limited to: control room DCS monitoring, LNG tank boil off operations, truck loading/unloading, general transfers, and vaporization/sendout.

Essential Functions:

  • Support all Eversource Safety and Environmental initiatives.
  • LNG storage boil off management, truck loading/offloading, and sendout operations.
  • Represent the Company by acting as incident commander during emergencies.
  • Understand and follow operational procedures.
  • Control plant startup and shutdowns.
  • Complete and facilitate necessary training for operations staff.
  • Ensure Eversource corporate requirements and policies are followed.
  • Communicate effectively with plant supervision, coworkers, maintenance department, engineering departments, and outside contractors, as required.
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance for Federal Energy Regulatory, Department of Transportation’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities, and Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection inspections.
  • Assist in abnormal requests/repairs or emergency response after hours on an as-needed basis.
  • Responsible for overall safety, environmental performance, and work delegation of crews and facility when on shift.
  • Operates the LNG plant in compliance with the Code of Federal Regulations.
  • Must be able to work rotating shift work schedule subject to changes according to Plant operating demands.
  • Responsible for receiving, interpreting, and generating communications to and from Gas Control.
  • Completing timesheets for crews, as assigned.
  • Creating work permits.
  • Participate in yearly performance reviews, as assigned.
  • Will have responsibility for Fitness for Duty and Reasonable Suspicion decisions.

Qualifications:

Technical Knowledge/Skill:

  • Keep accurate equipment logs and records.
  • Ability to successfully complete all company sponsored trainings.
  • Effective communication with different groups, including operations staff, maintenance staff, engineering departments, human resources, federal, state, and local regulators, external stakeholders, and other Eversource corporate groups.
  • Ability to understand and implement operational procedures.
  • Ability to understand and manage process control systems.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Associate degree in engineering or relevant technical discipline.

Experience :

  • Five years of relevant operations experience and demonstrable/verifiable knowledge of mechanical equipment operations (i.e. compressors, pumps, instrumentation systems, control systems, etc.) Supervisory experience a pl

Working Conditions:

  • Must be available to work emergency storm assignment as required.
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
  • Must be physically able to perform the required duties which include but are not limited to: climb ladders, platforms, staircases, and other physical obstacles including the LNG storage tank (Over 120 feet high) necessary to safely navigate the Facility; work in elevated and confined spaces; lifting; assist with general plant maintenance; and perform snow removal and other work in inclement weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.

  • Easton LNG is a LNG storage and vaporization facility with one 225,000 barrel tank with three vaporizers that are capable of producing up to to 50 MMSCF/day of natural gas in total.
  • Marshfield LNG is a LNG storage and vaporization facility with two 50,000 gallon tanks and one vaporizer that is capable of producing up to to 12 MMSCF/day of natural gas in total.
