Eversource Energy Project Manager- Clean Technologies (Hybrid)) in East Berlin, Connecticut

Role and Scope of Position:

Responsible for managing and advancing geothermal projects including the Eversource geothermal demonstration pilot project over its project lifecycle. The role will involve assisting to successfully bring geothermal projects, including the geothermal demonstration pilot project, online, assess the feasibility of projects as a business line for Eversource Energy and growing said business line, as applicable and consistent with the Clean Technologies group goals. The role may also involve assisting with projects within other Clean Technologies workstreams, such as renewable natural gas, hydrogen, etc.as needed and applicable. The role will require managing the budget for the design and construction projects, dedicated staffing, consultants, contractors, and associated reporting. Expected to collaborate with the Gas Business Unit as well as other groups across the company to bring projects to fruition.

This is a hybrid position. The first three months will be full-time in the office.

Role and Scope of Position:

Responsible for managing and advancing Clean Technologies projects including networked geothermal, hydrogen, and renewable natural gas projects over the project lifecycle. The role will involve assisting to successfully screening, planning, and bringing projects online as applicable and consistent with the Clean Technologies group goals. The role may also involve assisting with other projects within other Clean Technologies workstreams.as needed and applicable. The role will require managing the procurement process, budget, dedicated staffing, consultants, contractors, and associated reporting for projects. Expected to collaborate with the Gas Business Unit as well as other groups across the company to bring projects to fruition.

Essential Functions:

  • Manages the planning, design, and construction oversight for projects within the Clean Technologies Group, including the efforts of any third-party contractor(s)
  • Develops special bids in conjunction with other departments (i.e., Procurement) for projects. Assists in determining the best location of projects and developing and maintaining timelines and budgets.
  • Responsible for developing project scope, reviewing proposals and making recommendations to management regarding the selection of contractors
  • Plans and schedules the project in conjunction with the necessary groups within Engineering and Field Operations to develop timelines and ensure appropriate availability of resources, as needed.
  • Supervises the projects under construction in the field.
  • Assists with management and oversight of projects once in operation.
  • Reviews and approves all invoices and change orders that may occur on the project.
  • Assists in the collection and review of projects’ data for inclusion in reporting
  • Assists in development of reports that are required for the regulatory bodies and other agencies, which can include projections, timelines, contractor selections, etc.
  • Represents Eversource Gas at public meetings, regulatory hearings. town hall meetings and any special meetings that may occur.
  • Assists with required stakeholder outreach meetings and discussions.
  • Can work directly with customers as needed as part of the projects.
  • Ensures projects are conducted in a manner consistent with the Company’s safety and procurement policies and programs.

Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:

Education :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Applied Science, Business Administration, Accounting or equivalent.

Experience :

  • Minimum of five (5) to ten (10) years of related renewables, natural gas distribution, and / or general construction experience is required
  • Knowledge of hydrogen, geothermal and/or distribution systems, gas construction standards and procedures preferred
  • Project management experience is a plus

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Ability to become Operator Qualified under the DOT Program
  • Valid Driver’s license is required
  • PMP Project Management Professional preferred

Working Conditions:

  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
  • Some field work required at project sites.
  • This position is categorized as safety-sensitive for the purpose of drug testing. Successful applicants shall be subject to a pre-assignment drug test if the individual is currently in a non-safety sensitive position. As an employee in this position the individual shall be subject to random drug testing. A positive drug test will result in disciplinary action.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The salary range for this position starts at $110260.00 to $122510.00, plus incentive. Salary is commensurate with your experience. Check out the career site for an overview of benefits.
