Eversource Energy Performance Manager (Hybrid) in East Berlin, Connecticut

Our Team

We have an amazing opportunity to join the Corporate Performance Management team. In this role the Corporate Performance Mangerhas primary responsibility for directing the preparation, analyses and reporting of Eversource’s corporate performance metrics, assessment, and analysis to senior-level internal Eversource stakeholders such as the CEO, EVP & Sr Officers and Trustees as well as provide expertise to other departmental / functional leadership on metric development and performance assessment.

The role is based in Berlin, CT

Essential Functions

  • Manages a team that oversees the Eversource Corporate Performance Management process. Areas of focus include Operations and all Corporate Shared Services groups.
  • Design and manage the annual corporate performance management process to establish strategic / key initiatives and metrics. Consults with senior-level internal Eversource leadership and their team to identify appropriate performance indicators and targeted levels of corporate performance.
  • Develops reports and analyses to explain results throughout the year and in support of special projects, and evaluation of opportunities for business improvement.
  • Organizes and leads meetings to review performance trends with leadership teams.
  • Proactively works to clarify performance and provide leaders key insights not readily apparent in standard reports.
  • Support the Company’s process improvement initiatives by researching best practices, defining related performance metrics, and leading or otherwise supporting project teams as needed.
  • Sets priorities and makes recommendations for process improvements. Ensures activities are efficient and repeatable.
  • Support expert witness testimony and respond to discovery questions within regulatory proceeding.
  • Ensures work products are high quality and meet rigorous reporting standards.
  • Works in collaboration with teams across Eversource to manage deliverables and deadlines.
  • Partners with IT to identify and drive potential automation solutions.
  • Supports the Company’s process improvement initiatives through researching best practices, defining related solutions, and leading or otherwise supporting project teams as may be needed.
  • Supervises contracted support resources, as needed.
  • Provides coaching, develops, and leads team members when challenging situations are encountered.
  • Provides advanced troubleshooting to effectively resolve problems.
  • Leads and directs the work of others

Technical Knowledge/Skills

Knowledge

  • Extensive experience in Corporate Performance Management and / or utility operations
  • Extensive experience and demonstrated skill in designing and communicating performance analytics.
  • Expertise in building data collection, measurement and analytical models and using business reporting tools and IT systems to develop new or enhanced models, reports or extracts (including excel and other Microsoft tools))
  • Strong facilitation skills and experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Use initiative, independent action and sound decision-making.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Project management and process improvement focus
  • Strong leadership and team building skills.

Other Preferred Knowledge

  • Knowledge of rate making

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, Operations Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Information Systems, related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • MBA or other Master’s degree preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 – 12 years of related experience required which includes managerial, supervisory and/or team leadership experience

Working Conditions:

  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH, as necessary.
