Job Description:

This position will support the Energy Management System (EMS), PI systems for EVERSOURCE CT & W.MA. For this role OSIsoft PI is central. PI serves as the primary enterprise-wide data aggregator and historian, analytics engine. In addition to PI, this position will also support the SCADA systems. The role will also perform maintenance, troubleshoot, update, and analyze real-time applications (SCADA/EMS) such as, software and communication subsystems (Front-end processors, ICCP) and associated interface equipment used to control and monitor the distribution and transmission systems. This position include response, off hours or 24x7 on-call as needed, to maintain a reliable EMS system. Eversource uses GE as their main vendor for EMS, DMS and Power System Apps.

This position will be supporting distribution and transmission operations. This position will maintain and update the tools used by operations. A couple of the tools used by operations are the Energy Management System and PI Individual must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills. Considerable interaction will be required with other functional areas within Transmission and Distribution in CT, MA and NH, LCC’s, ISO New England, and other Transmission owners in New England.

Education and Experience:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or Computer Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience with OSIsoft PI is desirable
  • Experience with SCADA is desirable

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Responsive to customer requests and needs
  • Zero to five years of experience required in Energy Management Systems (EMS) or with PI systems.
  • Individual must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work with respect to project schedules, and deliver results in a timely manner
  • The ability to successfully complete a background check for Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Access required.
