Job Summary and Description:
This position will support EPRI’s regional customers as well as EPRI’s own research teams to identify, create and transfer to action the tools, methods and experience needed by systems to transition to low carbon electricity networks.
This person will:
Contribute to and lead research in supporting the development and application of advanced power system analysis.
Require excellent research and analytical skills
Be able to work with light supervision across a diverse team
Support other staff in carrying out projects and communicate findings with members and other stakeholders
Have the ability to lead smaller projects and work on multiple projects, including contributing to larger projects as part of a team.
Additional responsibility may include
Develops and leads execution of regional business development plans,
working with others as well as independently to execute regional development plans and drive revenue growth
Building strong client relationships to maintain old business and acquire new customers
Provides technical and business development support to staff as needed to create opportunities and drive closure of business
Serves as a representative for EPRI Institute, addressing key industry groups and clients on a variety of issues to further the R&D mission and investments
Primary focus will be the Middle East but may cover wider international regions as needed
Qualifications
Required – Bachelor’s Degree with 4-5 years of experience, some experience of scripting or programming (e.g. Python, Matlab or similar)
Preferred – Advanced Degree with 4-5 years of experience (PhD and Masters’ degree may count towards experience),
Preferred - Evidence of completing relevant studies or analyses related to renewable integration in large power systems
Preferred – Experience with relevant production cost tools (PLEXOS, Aurora, PSO, etc.) or network analysis tools (PSSE, PowerFactory, etc.)
Preferred - Demonstrable track record of sales success as an individual contributor
EPRI is committed to complying with the regulatory framework governing export control, consisting of international treaties, U.S. laws, regulations and trade sanctions, and where applicable, foreign laws governing export control. These include the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Part 810 nuclear export regulations, and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). It is a critical requirement of this role that the successful candidate will have to work with export-controlled technology / information.
