About this position:

The Journeyman Lineman performs power line installation, maintenance, and service work. The lineman must be able to work as a person in charge as a leadsman or foreman. As a Foreman or Leadsman they may oversee all aspects of a project; including safety, paperwork, planning, coordinating with engineers, and documenting equipment used.

The Town Manager is a Journeyman Lineman that provides electric services. In addition to the above, they are responsible for overall service throughout their area. When services require additional personnel, they will coordinate and assist with the work as needed.

    About this job:

  • Communicate verbally to maintain safety on worksite and during emergency situations

  • Troubleshoot power outages, utility concerns and power quality issues

  • Perform low or high-voltage electrical work and meter-related service work as needed

  • Perform sustained work at heights including on ladders and poles, and in buckets

  • Locate underground services

  • Deliver non pay notices and perform connects and disconnects for non-payment

  • Perform service temporary connects/disconnects at the customer's request

  • Install and remove overhead and underground lines

  • Frame, install, or replace poles

  • Perform rubber-gloving techniques to safely service high voltage lines and equipment

  • Repair street and company owned lighting

  • Set, check, replace, and remove meters to monitor electrical consumption

  • Interact with the public and help resolve customer-billing and community involvement

  • Complete documentation as required

  • Assume leadership role in response to emergency situations

  • Plan projects and direct crews to complete work in day to day and emergency situations

  • Work as a team member to safely and efficiently complete work activities

  • Assist in snow removal to maintain access to utility equipment

  • Shovel to dig or backfill trenches for underground services, setting poles, etc.

  • Work overtime including call out availability for evenings and weekends -especially in response to acute service needs

  • You must agree to live within an area approved by the company that allows for adequate response to our customers in call out and emergency situations. e. the greater Dillon, MT area

  • Lift and manipulate needed equipment weighing up to 75 pounds

  • Maintain company buildings and facilities at work locations, including shop upkeep and snow removal

    Am I right for this job? Here's the success profile:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Journeyman Lineman required

  • Valid Commercial driver's license and satisfactory driving record

  • First Aid/CPR Certification

  • Computer skills essential

  • Knowledge of applicable codes and safety policies/procedures

  • Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record

  • Willing to act as project foreman
