Job Summary
- Supervises a team of professionals responsible for all or some combination of the accountabilities identified below and utilize varying combinations of the competencies cited in this description, depending on the organization & role to which they're assigned.
Key Accountabilities
Provides supervision and oversight for all aspects of the assigned process
Solves business and operating problems related to their area using recognized financial analysis techniques
Responsibilities may include monthly accruals, accurate and timely payments in accordance with contract terms, account reconciliations, etc.
Conducts benchmarking studies and reports monthly performance metrics
Monitors work practices and utilizes continuous improvement and lean systems methodology
Creates a positive working environment, supports training and development, diversity, work and personal life balance and enterprise core values
Performs or ensures the accomplishment of the following core supervisory/management functions for a given group: planning, organizing, directing the performance of ongoing activities and special assignments, staffing (employee selection, training/coaching and performance management), time entry, coordinating, reporting and budgeting
Conducts other related management duties as assigned
This position may require gas FERC training
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or technical discipline and the knowledge/capabilities typically acquired through 7 years of experience in a finance related area; functional expertise in financial analysis or accounting
Other Qualifications
Preferred
- MBA or Master's degree

Demonstrated ability to compile and analyze complex financial data
Demonstrated ability with project management techniques and tools
PC Proficiency, including experience with MS Office products
Balances multiple demands from superiors, and/or subordinates & peers in a positive and evenhanded fashion; displays a calm demeanor under pressure
Motivates through 'leading by example,' coaching/mentoring and providing ongoing constructive feedback to subordinate staff; competent in systematically eliciting the best efforts and results from subordinate staff
Communicates effectively, verbally and in writing with individuals at all levels, inside and outside the corporation
