Job Summary

Assists management in the interpretation and administration of Collective Bargaining Agreements. Coordinates the resolution of grievances and arbitration cases. Advises management on the administration of disciplinary actions to ensure compliance with the provisions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or company policy. Conduct research and analysis to determine company position relative to non-economic bargaining issues and participates in the contract negotiation process. Updates contract language and ensures appropriate changes are made to plan documents, policies and/or procedures as a result of contract changes.

Key Accountabilities

  • Serve as labor consultant to assigned leaders for the handling of all labor/management issues and advises management on the administration of disciplinary actions.

  • Coordinate the resolution of problems identified by union leadership and implement tactics to improve the union/management relationship.

  • Research issues, support the company's position relative to non- economic issues, and participate in the negotiation process to implement change.

  • Represent the company's position throughout the grievance process and coordinate the arbitration process.

  • Provide interpretation and administration of union contract provisions to ensure effective, non-disruptive labor relations.

  • Research and assist management in implementing innovative programs to foster good working union/management relationships.

  • Compose union contract language and interfaces with other HR professionals to ensure that plans and policies reflect the appropriate union contract provisions.

  • Develop position papers based upon an analysis of qualitative and quantitative data.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Three or more years of human resources or labor agreement administration experience

Other Qualifications

Preferred

  • Labor relations experience

  • Arbitration/Grievance experience

  • Interpretation and development of contracts

Other Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate well with others.

  • Proficient verbal, nonverbal, written, and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to accurately analyze various forms of data, and assemble findings in a report or graphic format.
