Position Specific Description
NextEra Energy is seeking a technical individual to be part of the NextEra Energy Power Generation team. The Sr. PGD Engineer shall be responsible for reliability monitoring, evaluation and issue resolution of large scale solar, battery storage and wind facilities in the Southwest. This position will report to the Wind Regional General Manager, under the Power Generation Team, and will work out of the Southwest Region with travel to other locations within the region which includes sites in Arizona, California, New Mexico, Colorado and/or Nevada.
This individual is responsible for the reliability infrastructure required to ensure the equipment onsite operates in a safe, environmentally compliant and reliable manner.Under limited guidance, the individual will perform a variety of routine tasks, which provide experience and familiarity with Engineering staff, methods, practices, and programs after which may independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures while using judgment when making adaptions and modifications. Engineers on the NextEra Energy PGD team can spend a significant amount of time in the field (outside) troubleshooting and repairing all aspects of our facilities. PGD Engineers will be responsible for the southwest region sites, coordinating with the Renewables Operation Control Center, OEM’s, Vendors and Contractors as required to achieve established objectives.
The candidateshould be highly motivated with a strong bias for action and capable of working independently as well as part of a team. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering highly preferred.
Ideal candidate, willing to relocate or resides in Southern CA, AZ, NV, CO or NM.
Employees in this role have responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments. This involves exploration of subject area, definition of scope, selection of areas for investigation, and development of novel concepts.

• Acts as technical liaison to individuals within and outside the organization with responsibility to act independently regarding technical matters pertaining to individual's field
• Completes assignments given in broad terms concerning general objectives and limitations

The base pay for this position is $92,000.00 to $138,000.00 per year. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.
