Manager, Strategic Supply Chain Sourcing Job

Position Summary
Manage the development and execution of sourcing category, supplier, and risk management strategies with an enterprise-wide approach to planning and execution. Manage and provide leadership to a team of Category Managers. Collaborate with senior leadership and key stakeholders to implement procurement best practices that generate maximum value from supplier contracts. Oversee the creation and implementation of strategies that enable top quartile savings achievement and supplier service level agreements. Work with Supply Chain Governance & Enablement to ensure compliance across buying channels, suppliers, and contract execution as well as ensuring work complies with policies and regulations. Represent the company in interactions with current and potential suppliers. Develop and implement supplier performance and relationship management programs.
Essential Responsibilities
Manage and provide leadership to category managers in the development and implementation of enterprise-wide approaches to category management strategies for key segments of external spend as well as supplier performance and relationship programs for strategic suppliers.
Work with the Supply Chain Leadership Team to identify, develop, implement, and monitor opportunities for process improvement and value creation initiatives. Review and analyze sourcing data (e.g. total cost of ownership, cost models, etc.), market trends, benchmarking best practices, and maintain market awareness to provide continuous improvement guidance for sourcing strategies.
Allocate category managers in support of category management and strategic sourcing priorities. Manage category managers in the execution of strategic sourcing and contract development, implementation, and governance.
Collaborate and communicate with business stakeholders to ensure sourcing excellence (e.g. value capture, supply security, stakeholder satisfaction). Provide timely reporting of changes in critical business matters to internal and external stakeholders, and regular updates on category strategies and supplier performance, including the development and monitoring of key performance indicators. Provide change management leadership.
Work with the Director, Strategic Sourcing to develop strategies to address changing business priorities, and to identify and recommend changes in programs and policies that drive achievement of performance objectives, including a key focus on value capture.
Hire, manage, coach, and develop employees to create a high performing workforce to meet Xcel Energy’s present and future needs.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, business, or related technical/analytical field.
MBA is highly desired and CPSM or other Supply Chain certification are a plus.
Eight years of supply chain experience required.
Previous management experience of at least two years.
Extensive knowledge and experience in all elements of supply chain, including: strategic sourcing, purchasing, planning, forecasting, inventory management, logistics, warehousing, and supplier relationship management.
Experience in complex contract development and negotiation.
Strong spend and cost analysis, supply market knowledge, and financial background preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication, project management, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to travel; driver’s license required.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $103,000 to $146,333 per year
