Clearway Energy Cybersecurity Engineer in Denver, Colorado

What The Role Is

Clearway is looking to hire a Cybersecurity Engineer with an analytical mind and a detailed understanding of IT and cybersecurity methodologies, tools, and processes. Cybersecurity Engineers are expected to have meticulous attention to detail, outstanding problem-solving skills, work comfortably under pressure, and deliver on tight deadlines.

To ensure success, a Cybersecurity Engineer must display an excellent understanding of technology infrastructures including network security, application security, cloud, endpoint, CASB, & detection and response systems. Top candidates will be comfortable working independently and with a team on a variety of technologies, security challenges, and event triage.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Maintain, manage, and update the cybersecurity tool suite to meet Clearway Cybersecurity's roadmap, goals, and objectives.

  • Ensuring that the organization's data and infrastructure are protected by enabling the appropriate security controls.

  • Active and passive threat hunting; assessment of current and future tools to ensure robust capabilities.

  • Monitoring security platforms for anomalies and/or breaches within the protection of the organization's data, systems, and networks; investigating root causes & assisting with the development of remediations.

  • Assist with troubleshooting security, application, and network problems.

  • Responding to all system and/or network security breaches and incidents; documenting findings.

  • Participating in the change management processes.

  • Testing, identifying, and mitigating network, application, and system vulnerabilities.

  • Participating in Penetration Test exercises.

  • Daily administrative tasks, reporting, and communication with the relevant departments in the organization.

  • Working with external business partners to facilitate cybersecurity assessments, audits, and documentation reviews.

  • Abide by cybersecurity policies, procedures, baselines, and standards.

What You'll Bring

  • 4-year degree in Computer Science, IT, or Engineering; or comparable work experience. A high school diploma is minimally required.

  • 6+ years of experience working with and managing Information Technology systems.

  • 4+ years of work experience with security standards, protocols, and technologies.

  • Experience with the administration and engineering of the following technologies: Server, application, cloud, endpoints, network, and network security appliances.

  • Experience with zero trust solutions at enterprise scale and hardening solutions

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to successfully communicate in all situations with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to work on a team or independently as needed.

  • Ability to manage simultaneous projects/work streams, set priorities, and exercise independent judgment.

  • Ability to assess, diagnose, and enhance security and networking technologies for both simple and complex networks.

  • Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills.

  • Great awareness of cybersecurity trends and hacking techniques.

  • Create and update documentation on all areas of expertise.

What Would Be Nice

  • Experience working in a SOC is a plus.

  • Experience with Penetration Testing, Red and Blue teaming experience is a plus.

  • Work experience with incident detection, incident response, and forensics are a plus.

  • Work experience with risk assessment, policy creation, and threat classification frameworks is a plus.

  • Security and/or network certification(s) are a plus.

Clearway will not sponsor nonimmigrant visas for this position (H-1B, TN, E-3, etc.).

The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, relevant and demonstrated experience, education, training and certifications, and other factors permitted by law. This role is eligible to earn an annual cash bonus, subject to personal and company performance goals.

Salary Range Across all U.S. Locations

$114,000—$145,000 USD
