T&D Process Engineer/Analyst

Brief description:

This position is responsible to design, configure, and oversee the implementation of transmission and distribution software system and processes. This process engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing process strategies, managing software configurations, optimizing current processes, project management, conducting training, and maintaining documentation. This position manages T&D software solutions and processes to optimize Company efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • This position will configure, install, operate, and maintain the critical software systems to ensure users are efficient and productive.

  • Support multiple applications and have a knowledge across a wide range of skillsets and best work practices.

  • These systems operate 24x7 and are used by T&D field, engineering, planning, reporting and dispatch staff.

  • Help users apply technology to improve business practices and improve user software experience.

  • Interacts with co-workers, vendors, and representatives of other organizations to obtain and disseminate information, advise on projects, resolve conflicts, set priorities, coordinate activities, complete projects within time and budget constraints, ability to persuade others to change existing practices, and provide assistance.

  • Create diagrams and documentation for as-is and to-be software configurations and system processes.

  • Evaluates new products and services from vendors to determine applicability to hardware, software, T&D work practices and other processes.

  • Participates as high-level technical expert in design development, testing, and debugging new software or significant enhancements to existing software.

  • Researches federal, state and local laws, rules, regulations, ordinances, policies and procedures to ensure compliance and client agencies to ensure systems are compliant with all regulatory parameters.

  • Assists in developing the company’s technology road map and has input into the department’s budget.

  • Excellent project management and training skills.

  • Track metrics to discover areas for improvement.

  • Use interpersonal skills in developing positive working relationships with other employees working on T&D process improvement.

  • Develop best practices to ensure efficient processes.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical subject

  • Experience with designing and implementation of software systems.

  • Good technical understanding of the transmission and distribution system.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
