Pike Corporation BESS Estimator in Dallas, Texas

Position Summary: The BESS Estimator will create project cost/profit estimations for project bids, serve as a resource to project teams regarding scopes of work for vendors/subcontractors, and clarify bid assumptions, methods, schedule, etc., as required.

Successful Electrical Cost Estimators are disciplined and adept to working in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment. There must be a strong sense of team play while possessing a high level of personal initiative and self-reliance.

Essential Functions:

  • Reviews and gains a thorough understanding of RFP Docs & Develop detailed cost proposals.

  • Responsible for electrical takeoffs and generation of electrical construction estimate.

  • Responsible for creating sub-contractor bid packages for any non-self-performed scope. Followed up by review of pricing and determining best offer.

  • Responsible for aggregating all bid inputs and creating estimate to breakout into clients SOV or bid forms.

  • Primarily responsible for material procurement communications (quote requests), and supplier coordination.

  • Works with the rest of the proposal team to ensure that all deliverables are generated and submitted within specified deadlines.

  • Communicates regularly with internal company SMEs for questions regarding assumptions or areas requiring clarification throughout the proposal process.

  • Primarily responsible for the generation of Assumptions/Inclusion and Exclusions and/or draft proposal language.

  • Ensures accuracy, completeness, and competitiveness of cost estimate.

  • Collaborates with the Project Manager for project handoff and debrief inputs/deliverables.

  • Works with Project Manager to review received contracts for accuracy of scope and price to RFP documents and estimate.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree required

  • Required - 5+ Years of relevant experience as a commercial electrical estimator. Experience with Utility scale project estimating preferred.

  • Preferred - Electrical Engineering education, technical or academic

  • Preferred - 10+ Years of relevant experience as a commercial electrical estimator

  • Use of Take-off software & Estimating programs preferably Accubid or equivalent.

  • Electrical Construction knowledge

  • Excellent Written and Verbal Communication skills are a must.

  • Strong Organizational and Interpersonal skills

  • High Proficiency level with computer navigation and applications such as Adobe Acrobat Pro or similar PDF editing apps, Microsoft Office 365; Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook

  • Detailed Construction Take-off abilities

The employee may be subject to one or more of the following atmospheric conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may also be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee may occasionally be exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
