Position Summary:

TheConstructionManagerisresponsible for paving and concrete construction and improvement projects.TheConstructionManageridentifies contract worthy projects,consultson projectfeasibilityand projectsitedetails,coordinates with construction crews,overseesproject inspectors, and on a projectspecificbasisperformsconstructionoversight.Theincumbentmayalsopreparejobpackages and construction estimates, conductjob walks,and meet with bidders, contractors, andgoverningagencies.TheConstructionManagerensuresprojects are completed perregulatoryguidelines,permitsandschedule.

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.​

A reasonable salary range is:​

Bay Area Minimum: $​102,000.

Bay Area Maximum: $​162,000.

Job Responsibilities:

•Applies advanced knowledge of professional and technical concepts to projects focusing on Asphalt and Concrete construction management.

•Attends asphalt and concrete job scope walk downs w/PG&E personal and contractor representatives.

  • conducts preliminary job site visits, solicits input on the constructability and contractibility of proposed projects.

•Interprets, and writes work specific scope

•Reviews RFP’s to confirm financial data submitted from the contractor matches the job scope.

•Attends formal job walk downs with Project Managers and/or Gas Operation Supervisors to review the IFC (Issued For Construction) drawings and discuss scope, schedule and target dates.

  • Addresses communication with contractors.

  • Organizes meetingsat thejobsiteallowingcontractors to review thedesignand ask questions.

  • Utilizesworkload managementdatabaseand updateassignedprojects.Assistcareerlevelemployees withsystemusage and begin reviewing workloadanalysisreports.

  • Ensures contractorsfollowtheirapprovedsite-specificsafety plans. Enforces project environmental/landpermitconditions andallsafety regulations

  • Assistsinthe pre-constructionprojectcycle,accompanies team on project walks and offer constructability reports when tasked. Coordinates restoration construction projectkickoff meetings, and meets with governingagencies/ municipalitiesto manage andenlistcompliancewith permitting regulations.

  • Ensures accurate documentation of contractorbilling,management of change orders and thecloseout of projectfieldrecords.

  • Attends weekly construction and progress meetings andpublishmeeting notes withfieldrecords on a projectbasis.Maintains apositiverelationship with construction superintendents and projectmanagersupdating them as part of the project construction team.

  • Onalimitedbasis,and as designated, provides mentoring toAssociateand Careerlevelemployees.

Qualifications:

Minimum :

Bachelor's degreeinConstruction Management,CivilEngineering,Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience

5 years of experienceinthefieldof Industrial engineering or Construction

Desired :

  • 7 years working experienceinthefieldof Industrial Civil Engineering orHeavy CivilConstruction.

  • Working Knowledge of Primavera P3/P5/P6schedulingsoftware, and Primavera UNIFIER orsimilarsoftware

  • Demonstratedabilitiesincostaccounting,contract administration, and project scheduling

  • Demonstrateabilitiesinproject inspection and quality control.

  • Understanding of Asphalt and Concrete construction.

  • Experience working on Asphalt and Concrete public works projects.
