This position may be eligible for a hybrid work environment (combination of remote work and in-office reporting), with the coordination and approval of the appropriate supervisor.

Position Title: Systems Analyst (Revenue Metering)

Reports To: Manager, Reporting Systems

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Basic Functions: The Systems Analyst will be responsible for providing administration, implementation and support for AMP’s reporting and revenue metering systems. This person is responsible for providing 24x7 operations support for the systems listed above.

Essential Functions:

  1. Be the primary point of contact for vendor support of the revenue meter reading system and web facing application to AMP staff, members, and partners.

  2. Provide 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level support for the revenue meter reading system and metering device configurations and other business systems, including web facing application to AMP staff, members, and partners that provide business and reporting data.

  3. Provide 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level support for the Member Facing portals and data presentation dashboards.

  4. Provide 1st, 2nd, and 3rd level support for configuring and troubleshooting meter issues.

  5. Manage, monitor, and incorporate meters into AMP’s network monitoring and information security systems.

  6. Collaborate with the network/client/server teams and consultants as needed to resolve problems and take appropriate corrective action(s) to ensure systems are operating correctly and within established operational and functional SLA’s.

  7. Assist with planning and upgrades related to Line of Business and Plant applications.

  8. Identifies process improvements and develops business cases for new investments.

  9. Participate in assigned projects according to the IT project management methodology, procedures, and processes.

  10. Weekend and off-peak hours implementations are part of the work duties, as well as being part of a rotating 24x7 on-call support team.

  11. Perform support of report system including creation of new reports and maintaining existing reports.

  12. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Breakdown:

• 50% - Revenue Meter Reading System Administration, Implementation, Monitoring, and support and support for metering devices and configurations and support billing and data validation processes.

• 30% - Meter (field device) configuration and support.

• 20% - Provide support for existing reports and for systems that support reporting.

• 10% - Systems Training and Documentation.

• Travel to plant and field sites required (<10%).

Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other information technology equivalent.

  2. Experience in windows server and network troubleshooting a plus.

  3. Recommended areas of expertise include, but are not limited to:

a. Experience with metering and reporting systems (ie PrimeRead, SCADA, PI)

b. Management, and maintenance of servers in multiple platforms (Linux, VMware, Windows)

c. Database backup and recovery (Microsoft SQL)

d. Experience using Microsoft SSRS reporting tool

e. Capacity planning and monitoring

f. Understanding of client/server processes and virtualization (VMWare, other)

g. Fiber Optic, RJ-45 ethernet and serial cabling technologies and converters

h. LAN/WAN physical and logical support

i. Wireshark, putty, telnet, ping, and other IT troubleshooting tools

j. Network monitoring or other “like” tools

k. Knowledge of basic disaster recovery best practices, documentation management, and periodic testing

  1. Excellent demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.

  2. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.

  3. Experience writing and maintaining Microsoft SQL queries, functions, and stored procedures.

  4. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks of varying complexities and meet deadlines.

  5. Capable of managing fairly complex reporting projects.

  6. Must be a detail and process oriented, innovative, self-starting, hands-on technology professional that is able to work with minimal supervision.

  7. Must be able to work in a team environment and periodically work under high stress conditions.

  8. Use various network/client/server monitoring tools for systems control and problem resolution.

  9. Must be able to work in a fast-paced operations center environment.

  10. Must have exceptional interpersonal skills.
