Job Description:

Position summary:

Provides financial analysis support to the Director of Trusts and Investments. Assist in the administration of Employee Benefit investment trusts and other investment trusts sponsored by AEP that total over $16 billion. Plans and trusts include the pension trust, savings plan, retirement medical trusts, captive insurance trusts, nuclear decommissioning trust, black lung trusts, AEP Foundation, education trust and executive benefit trusts. Support trust fund activities such as coordinating cash flows, contributions, transfers and disbursements. Monitor and maintain plan compliance with ERISA, investment policies and other regulatory guidelines and policies. Assist in developing management reports and presentations to Executives, Investment Committees, Finance Committees, Operating Companies and other stakeholders. Coordinate with other departments, trustees, custodians, investment managers and outside vendors to maintain smooth operations. Analyze new investment opportunities and recommend changes. Assist other areas of the company with financial analysis and operational support as needed.

Principal Accountabilities:

  1. Supports the daily operations of the trust funds and investment activities. Provides financial analysis and presentation support to the group and other areas in the Treasury department.

  2. Monitors and analyzes investment results.

  3. Implements recordkeeping and investment procedures to support Sarbanes-Oxley and audits. Validates data for use in reports to internal and external auditors.

  4. Manage relationships with trust banks, investment managers and external consultants.

  5. Prepares presentations for executives and employees, participates in presentations given.

  6. Assists in other Treasury, Human Resources or Finance and Analysis projects.

Minimum Requirements:


Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other financial discipline.


No experience required, but prior experience in financial area and/or working with investments and financial markets is preferred.
