AES Clean Energy (AES CE), a subsidiary of The AES Corporation, specializes in developing, owning, and operating utility scale PV solar projects, distributed generation PV solar projects, PV solar projects combined with battery energy storage systems (BESS), stand-alone battery energy storage projects and wind generation projects. AES CE currently has over 4,500 MW of solar, wind and storage projects in operation in the U.S., with an additional 500+ MW in construction and 4,000+ MW contracted or in development.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Looking for a versatile player with a technical background, ideally with renewable energy operations or construction experience (Solar, Battery Storage, Wind), that possesses proven project management, coordination, interpersonal and administrative skills.

This position will be part of the O&M Transition and Warranty team. The Transition Specialist will lead and manage the transition of projects from construction to operations, for assigned projects. They will coordinate with Project Execution, O&M teams and other key AES Clean Energy project collaborators while implementing and driving the Transition process. They would periodically travel to project sites to participate in key activities and project achievements that ultimately help ensure a more thorough and smooth transition of renewable construction projects to Operations (O&M).

Lead and coordinate Transition process activities with key Project Execution partners.

Develop and prepare Transition Packages and seek and collect key project documentation and requirements as early as available.

Initiate and lead regular transition status/update meetings with project team members to action relevant transition activities throughout the process.

Periodically update O&M Field Service, Performance Engineering and the Remote Operational Control Center (ROCC) integration team on the progress and status of the project and transition activities.

Work with fellow team members to evolve and improve the Transition process, based on lessons learned.

Work closely with the Field Service Regional Manager, Site Team Lead and the Construction Manager -- to assist in integration of O&M site team into appropriate construction related activities for familiarization, training, QC walk-downs, Punchlist reviews, observations and other transition activities.

Travel to sites to participate in key activities and landmarks including, but not limited to: “Golden Row” Assessments and Pre-MC walkdowns.

Work with project QA/QC, Engineering Commissioning, and the Project team to help ensure knowledge transfer, proper on-site EPC training of site O&M personnel and transfer of required user documentation.

Lead O&M transition of assigned DG projects.

Lead the transition of assigned projects that are designated to be maintained by a 3rd Party O&M company and then transfer and communicate the relevant turnover information to the 3rd Party when appropriate.

Manage Transition Turnover sign-off document review and identify any risks to Operations. Coordinate obtaining required signatures.

Experience:

Electrical systems knowledge

Power industry background

Renewable energy O&M or EPC experience

Knowledge of Substation switching operations

Solar project Commissioning experience would be advantageous

Overall knowledge of Utility and/or Distributed Generation solar projects

QA/QC experience

Technical training experience

MS Office software proficiency

Adobe Acrobat Pro experience

Procore software experience

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

This job will require frequent travel to project sites for participation and coordination of project transitions activities and turning points (25-30%).

This job requires walking project sites and being on feet for prolonged periods of time.

This job also operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $95.000 and $119.000/Annual; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
