The Sr. Manufacturing Manager will coordinate multiple work centers, establish a high-quality continuous improvement culture, focus on problem solving in a dynamic work environment using tools such as A3, implement value stream mapping and lean principles. The successful candidate will manage multiple complex priorities simultaneously with a “hands-on” style. The candidate must exemplify true leadership in developing his/her team and in general with building credibility throughout the organization.
The Sr. Manufacturing Manager is responsible for managing the conversion of raw materials to finished goods per specifications. This entails the management of production schedules, staffing, and efficient operations to assure overall cost effectiveness. Direct reports include all shift supervisors managing production operations on 24 hr. / 5 days a week shift.

Establishes and implements short and long-range operations goals, objectives and strategic plans; monitors and evaluates operational effectiveness, and effects changes required for improvement.
Implements strategic processes when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
Develops and communicates a vision for the organizational unit and builds consensus for operating goals that are in alignment with the division.
Enable a culture of Operational Excellence by leading and creating engagement around continuous improvement and lean activities within the production line/area.
Track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to achieve or exceed product cost goals.
Analyze SOIP (Sales Operating Inventory Plan) requirements and provide production commitments for the production line/area including non-commercial requirements.
Perform other duties as requested by management.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree or comparable work experience with a minimum of 7+ years of production management experience
Demonstrated people leadership skills managing a large, diverse team
Promotes a high-performance, inclusive culture within a quality focused environment.
Ability to direct and control the activities and budget of one or more functional areas, divisions, product groups, projects/programs and/or operations.
Champions new ideas and approaches and creates an environment that encourages and supports innovation.
In conjunction with supervisors (direct reports) and Human Resources, resolves personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions and recommending action.
Microsoft Office and other computer application skills. Experience working with ERP systems.
Knowledge of Scheduling and Inventory Control.
Thorough understanding of Lean Manufacturing
Project Management experience
Thermoforming and Extrusion Experience
Work in a production environment requiring the use of PPE such as safety glasses, hearing protection and gloves and clean rooms.
Must be capable and able to lift up to 50 lbs. when training and assisting in production.
Extended hours may be required at times to ensure all job responsibilities are met.
