Position Summary:

The Engineering Coordinator will work with the engineering and tooling staff to manage and complete coordination and entry level engineering tasks.

This position will contain a wide breath of activities in support of the Design, Manufacturing and Quality Engineering staff.

Essential Functions:

  • Translating engineering documentation to manage and procure project materials and components.

  • Support the scheduling and ordering of materials for prototyping and development efforts.

  • Interpret BOM’s and drawings to order materials for tooling and fabrication jobs with Engineering oversite.

  • Place PO’s for tools and dies as required in support of the toolroom and engineering.

  • Manage toolroom supply inventory and components.

  • Build and manage a tooling scheduling process to include pro-active tooling maintenance activities.

  • Assist in administrative engineering documentation changes. Including ECN’s, NC’s and CAPA’s.

  • Facilitate Project/Machine sustainment thru the creation of: Instruction manuals, PM cycles, spare parts recommendations.

  • Manage toolroom inventory of raw materials and tool components.

  • Interpret BOM’s and drawings to order materials for tooling and fabrication jobs with Engineering oversite.

  • Place PO’s for tools and dies as required in support of the toolroom and engineering.

  • Assemble and share established regulatory and compliance information for customer requests. (REACH Rohs, Prop65 etc).

  • Monitor Unipoint and publish indicators defining use and diligence.

  • Solidworks design/ detailing tasks as required.

  • Help establish, track and publish engineering project KPI’s.

  • Assist in input and analysis for PPAP, PQ and FA requirements for customer qualification processes.

  • Assist Engineering with pre-project data collection from established sources.

  • Facilitate Project/Machine sustainment thru the creation of: Instruction manuals, PM cycles, spare parts recommendations.

  • CI Program Support: idea tracking, indicator tracking.

  • Order sample raw material for Engineering Prototyping and product verification.

  • Help establish, track and publish engineering department and project KPI’s.

  • Assist in prototypes and product verification runs with Engineering.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

BS degree in engineering, entry level training.

Two year or AAS degree in a technical or fabrication training program with 5 years direct experience

Or 5+ years’ experience in a technical coordinator or engineering support role.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong Excel and database skills

  • Extreme organizational skills

  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated experience with ERP systems and processes

  • Experience with the use of Solidworks or another solids modeling software.

  • “Blanket order” management experience in a tooling environment.

  • Knowledge of toolroom and fabrication processes and methods

WORK CONDITIONS/TRAVEL:

Because this position will be in support of both the Otsego and Clearwater sites. Reasonable travel between the sites will be common.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Significant sitting, standing and keyboarding/ screen time.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Typical office setting with time on the manufacturing floor and toolroom environments.
