  • Responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, monitoring and improving maintenance activities in a generating plant environment in a environmentally compliant manner.

  • As a senior member of the plant’s management team, directly participates in the development of plant specific goals and objectives.

  • Assists in overall budget planning for the plant and takes responsibility for developing, implementing and explaining variances of the maintenance budget plan.

  • Participates in outage planning, direction and execution while keeping safety, environmental compliance and customer impact in mind.

  • Performs all management duties including, but not limited to, budgeting, hiring, performance reviews, coordinating and scheduling work, salary recommendations, discipline, ensure employees report to work fit for duty, leadership, grievance resolution, coaching & counseling, models Alliant Energy’s Core Values at all times.

Alliant Energy is currently seeking an Maintenance Manager to oversee day to day maintenance activities at the Emery Generating Station. Emery Generating Station is a 600MW, 2+1 combined cycle natural gas power plant equipped with GE 7FA.03 gas turbines and a GE D11 Steam Turbine, located near Clear Lake, IA

The individual selected for this role will have 6 direct report employees and will be responsible for planning, directing and implementing maintenance activities for the plant and it's related equipment.

Job Category:Power Plant Maintenance Job Qualifications:Minimum Requirements

  • This position requires a bachelor's degree and five years of related experience OR in the absence of a degree nine years of experience is required.

  • This position requires three years of supervisory experience or equivalent. Equivalent experience may include project management, providing work direction, leadership experience through temporary assignments, roles in the community or external organizations, or other demonstrated leadership experience?

  • Must possess a valid driver's license.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with combined cycle combustion turbines

  • Working knowledge of process controls (Provox, Mark VI, Emerson Ovation, etc.) preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated effective leadership skills.

  • Demonstrated financial skills such as budgeting and basic accounting.

  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to use computer software programs (e.g., e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and project management).

  • Ability to work in a diverse work environment.
