Become a Third Party Relations Sr. Specialist position title at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll work with leadership, internal resources and external Third-Party customers to address significant or complex business concerns as it relates to regulatory compliance on matters related to CPUC rulings or related governing body topics. They will analyze and develop alternative solutions and make strategic recommendations that will impact SCE and our Third-Party customer’s business operations and partnerships. This resource will be a key Third-Party contact that will provide subject matter expertise and input through the development, tracking and implementation of initiatives that support SCE’s operational compliance to regulatory requirements. They will meet with customers on a continuous basis as a liaison to ensure customer’s needs are being met and/or offer mediation support to ensure escalated concerns are addressed and resolved.

  • Initiates and facilitates monthly and/or bi-weekly internal and external Third-Party customer engagement meetings with both renters and owners to discuss and strategize on regulatory related issues and drive SCE initiatives.

  • Develop, track, and review Third-Party and Regulatory related operational reports to identify process opportunities/inefficiencies and develop strategic solutions to ensure SCE compliance.

  • Apply subject matter expertise and knowledge to identify, develop and present business cases and/or recommendations to leadership that are in support of SCE goals, objectives, and initiatives. At times may lead the implementation efforts.

  • Provides regulatory subject matter expertise on third-party owners and renter as it relates to cross-functional and operational projects that may influence or impact third-parties or SCE.

  • Make tactical decisions and takes appropriate steps in mediation management with third parties in effort resolve and appropriately escalate issues to reduce risk and liability to SCE.

  • Facilitate and develop training material in effort to resolve identified knowledge gaps with Third Parties or within SCE. Responsibilities


The essentials

  • 5 or more years of customer service experience

  • 2 or more years of project management experience

  • Experience reviewing, interpreting, and negotiating contracts with third parties

The preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Experience running reports and extracting data from SAP or similar applications

  • Understanding of Distribution & Transmission Construction processes

  • Understanding of the Southern California Joint Pole Routine Handbook, Right of Way Decision, General Order 165 and General Order 95

You should know ...

  • This position’s work mode is hybrid .  The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
