About Transmission and Distribution:

Southern California Edison’s (SCE's) Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit (T&D) is responsible for planning, engineering, constructing, operating, and maintaining transmission and distribution facilities throughout the 50,000-square-mile territory. T&D is the steward of roughly $19 billion in assets that safely and reliably deliver electricity to 14 million residents via SCE’s 4.9 million customer accounts.

The job…

This position will be in the T&D Training organization and will report to the Senior Manager ofIntegration, Maintenance & Improvement (IMI) Technical Training. The successful candidate will lead/manage the portfolio and integration, including prioritization of planned & in-flight projects to ensure alignment of projects within each of the training school, across T&D and other Organization Units (OUs). The successful candidate will lead cross functional team of senior leaders on enterprise wise and strategic initiatives.

Day to day…

  • Position will be responsible for the development & implementation of a strategy and process to maintain all current training programs, including frequency, process, tools and standards.

  • Ensuring all training meets state/federal regulatory training requirements and follows the industry standard Systematic Approach to Training (SAT).

  • Partner with key stakeholder and senior leaders to ensure the program is in alignment with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

  • Support the facilitation of the annual T&D Training strategic planning & development process, including development of T&D Training goals, as well as have responsibility for the development and execution of the training roadmap.

  • Consult with executive and senior management teams in T&D to develop learning solutions that support the development of their workforce by serving as subject matter expert in adult learning utilizing the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) methodology, and providing consultation to ensure achievement of learning objectives.

  • Provide subject matter expertise in support of the General Rate Case (GRC) testimony.

  • Lead technology integration and innovation initiatives for T&D Training requiring collaboration with key stakeholder organizations including: Information Technology, Employee Learning and Development, Organization Operational Readiness, and T&D business lines.

  • Ensure employee performance standards and expectations are met for both direct and/or matrixed reports.

  • Establish performance expectations and goals aligned with Company objectives, policies and procedures.

  • Demonstrate Company values through decisions and actions.


Qualifications you need…

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in business, engineering, or related discipline

  • Ten or more years’ experience leading, managing, and/or influencing key projects, programs, or initiatives

  • Experience consulting with clients to design training programs, develop training curriculum, and/or manage training deployment activities

Other stuff that will set you up for success…

  • Master’s Degree

  • Project Management Professional Certificate

  • Experience consulting with executives and officers

  • Experience developing medium- to long-term strategic business plans and objectives for a division/department and assuring that strategies from senior and executive management are carried out

  • Experience managing multiple projects from the conceptual stage through completion, including managing budgets and other resources

  • Ability to communicate concisely and directly, both orally and in writing, to explain technical matters in layman’s terms and in a manner that engages the intended audience
