About this Role

Taylor’s Construction, a Quanta Services Company, is looking for experiencedCoax/Fiber Splicerto join our team in Chilhowie, VA and support the VA/WV territories.

This position involves working with various types of IT infrastructure, ensuring that connections are made efficiently and effectively. The Splicer plays a crucial role in the installation and maintenance of fiber optic networks.

What You'll Do

• Assemble and maintain electrical systems and equipment

• Install, repair, and maintain power cables and lines

• Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical systems

• Read blueprints and wiring diagrams

• Test electrical systems and equipment for proper operation

• Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment

• Proficient in the use of hand and power tools

• Good problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently

• Experience using hand tools and specialized equipment for network installation.

• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.

What You'll Bring

• Minimum 2 years of combined experience(coax & fiber)

• Skilled in fiber splicing and possess a strong understanding of computer networking principles.

• Proficiency in fiber splicing techniques and best practices.

• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including Ethernet and WAN technologies.

• Ability to read and understand engineering diagrams

• Familiarity with computer networking concepts and troubleshooting methods.

• Ability to climb safely and work at heights using bucket trucks when necessary.

• Must be able to lift and move up to 60 lbs., carry and climb ladders, and work outside during all weather conditions.

• Ability to endure long periods of standing, sitting, and walking.
