Job Description
Position Overview –
As the Vice President, IT Infrastructure and Operations, you will be responsible for the strategy, planning and overall management and administration of the Infrastructure, Business Applications, and Daily Operations Information Technology functional domains. This person reports directly to the Senior Vice President, Technology Solutions and works closely with all Technology Solutions senior leadership.
This is a key leadership position who will direct the teams in charge of a hybrid and extensive cloud and on-premises environment of enterprise best in class solutions. Areas include business applications, data integrations, unified communications, network services, data center operations, servers and storage platforms, service monitoring, service desk, staff onboarding, and technology adoption.
Responsibilities –
Ensure the global availability, integrity, and scalability for all IT systems, applications, and infrastructure.
Set the vision, strategy, and roadmaps for our IT Infrastructure, Business Applications, and Daily Operations responsibilities.
Lead and scale broad technical teams, consultants, and managed service providers to execute on the roadmap.
Lead the planning, implementation, support, and maintenance of all hardware, software, and services used for network, communications, computer, memory, application delivery, and endpoint.
Evaluate technologies for effectiveness, efficiency, cost and security; evaluate and implement new systems and infrastructures; discover and implement technology solutions.
Provide leadership and guidance to technical teams regarding architectural and procedural best practices.
Actively participates as a part of the department leadership team to develop long and short-term strategies, set and achieve measurable goals and objectives , and develop action plans with challenging but realistic deadlines.
Maintain metrics necessary to support KPI and KRI reporting related to infrastructure performance and optimization.
Participates in the budgeting process to ensure service agreements and equipment contracts are budgeted for renewals.
Possesses a continuous improvement mindset and proactively looks for opportunities to increase efficiencies, refine processes and cut costs with internal IT processes as well as throughout the business.
Drives the simplification and standardization of shared IT services and applications.
Promotes the IT organization's capabilities and works to strengthen the business value of the IT organization.
Actively mentor current and future leaders and individual contributors in your group through effective 1:1s, thoughtful feedback, career growth planning, and performance reviews.
Required skills -
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or related field.
15+ years of progressive IT experience, with a multinational organization and/or a company experiencing significant growth in size and locations.
10+ years in an IT leadership position, with experience managing technology teams supporting hybrid infrastructure environments across many locations and teams with diverse functional responsibilities.
Capable of demonstrating effective leadership, communication, and organization al skills with a results-oriented mindset.
Proven experience collaborating and preparing executive-level communications and effectively presenting ideas to senior leadership.
Strong strategic planning discipline, with experience building and communicating business cases for technology change.
Ability to build strong relationships with business and IT stakeholders, as well as IT project and operations teams.
Ab le to assess necessary activities and prioritize for completion of assignments using excellent time management, prioritization skills and work ethic.
Preferred skills -
Master’s degree or MBA
Previous experience with energy generation, distributed control systems, or similar industries.
Professional certifications – MCSE, CCNP, ITIL or equivalent.
