Description:

Since 1995, CADNet has grown from three students in Knoxville to impacting over 10,000 students at 42 schools in counties across the Tennessee Valley.

CADNet is a school-to-work program that trains studentsincomputer-aided drafting (CAD)whileproviding low-cost, qualityservices for TVA and other organizations.

In addition to expanding educational and career opportunities for students, CADNet is a training ground for tomorrow’s workforce who will need advanced computer skills to compete in a highly competitive job market.

Through CADNet, high school juniors are taught the advanced computer skills needed to become proficient at producing engineering drawings in the classroom. High school seniors are eligible to work at one of our offices where they earn wages while completing projects for TVA and other organizations.

Students gain hands-on experience while working with industry professionals throughout each project.

Students also learn the importance of time management in order to meet deadlines and how to meet or exceed expectations when other people are depending on them. Students truly become an integral part of our team and gain many skills that help them in school and life.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher

  • Must be 16 years of age or older

  • Letter of reference from a teacher or teachers

  • Letter of Interest from the student

Must attend a school in one of the following counties:

  • Tennessee Counties:

  • Hawkins

  • Hamblen

  • Grainger

  • Cocke

  • Knox

  • Bradley

  • Hamilton

  • Blount

  • Jefferson

  • Sevier

  • Anderson

  • McMinn

  • Union

  • Georgia Counties:

  • Catoosa

  • Walker

  • Alabama Counties:

  • Jackson

  • Marshall

  • DeKalb

  • Madison

Application Instructions:

  • Ensure resume includes current GPA.

  • Students MUST include a teacher recommendation letter (provided by teacher), verifying that the student has completed at least one semester of CAD or Drafting Instruction.

  • The teacher must sign this letter and student should upload it to the Attachments portion of the online application.

  • Students MUST include a letter of interest articulating why he/she is interested in the CADNet program at TVA. Student should upload it to the Attachments portion of the application.
