Must have completed at least 30 hours of college coursework
Maintain a GPA of 2.75 or higher
Currently enrolled as a full time student
Have reached the age of 18 years old
May be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance based on position, access requirements and essential job functions

Intern will develop an understanding of the assigned External Relations business unit, as it relates to its functional purpose and will learn standard work, strategies, philosophies, programs, and initiatives within the organization.
External Relations Business Units include:
External Strategy and Regulatory Oversight - Drives processes for development and execution of TVA’s external engagement strategies. Provides central services functions for all External Relations teams including project management and data analytics. Oversees the development, interpretation, and implementation of TVA’s retail regulatory responsibilities and proactively monitors financial health of local power companies (LPCs).
Regional Relations - Serves local power companies, direct serve customers, state and local governmental entities, and community partners across four regions (North, South, East, West) through managing relationships, delivering value-added services, and implementing regional community programs connected to our core mission of service.
Economic Development - Serves to attract new companies and investment to the TVA region, engage existing business and industries, and serve with our partners to help communities prepare for economic growth.
Federal Affairs - Serves as TVA’s liaison with Congress, the Administration, federal agencies, and key industry groups, to share information about TVA’s mission and operations and build relationships with important federal stakeholders.
Officeof the CEO- Strategically manages the CEO’s schedule and interactions with external stakeholders and internal staff and serves as liaison between the TVA Board and TVA leaders, staff, and external stakeholders while promoting and inclusive workplace environment and enforcing anti-discrimination laws.
Example duties include:
Become familiar with the TVA business, organization, key decision makers, External Relations processes and procedures. Intern will have the opportunity to interact with External Relations leaders and team members while learning the key components that drive TVA’s strategic approach to external engagement.
Develop working knowledge of critical External Relations functions as outlined by the intern’s manager and business unit.
Learn to apply policies and procedures across the organizations; recommend continuous improvement changes in support of business needs, and proactively develop an understanding of policies, procedures, and culture and communicate these to new and existing employees.
Seeking majors in Business, Data Analytics, Marketing, Political Science, Public Relations, Public Administration, Communications, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, and related fields.
Position Locations: Positions are located throughout the TN Valley region with virtual options available.
