Position Purpose
Support significant BU and SBU business planning efforts, including development of strategy, initiatives, performance metrics, risk assessments, and decision support. Coordinate and lead these efforts for plant/site/region/department. Under guidance of Manager, Business Planning & Analysis, act as a business support contact to BU/SBU leadership team, as well as plant/site/region/department management. Support the development and deployment of programs, processes and procedures that improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the business unit for both cost and performance.
Principal Accountabilities
Facilitate business planning process & implementation for assigned business partner(s).
Support long-range planning efforts for business partner(s), working with business partner leadership and business unit support, driving alignment between business partner(s) strategies and the TVA strategy.
Ensure business partner(s) enterprise risks are incorporated during the business planning process. May also serve as the enterprise risk coordinator for business partner(s).
Coordinate with executives and business planning and financial leads across multiple BU/SBUs
Develop business cases and economic analysis for decision support.
Perform and report on gap and performance analysis and initiative tracking to improve performance, mitigate risks, and provide consultation to business partner(s).
Coordinate with portfolio manager(s) of assigned business partner(s) to ensure alignment between the portfolio and gaps and risks identified during business plan development.
Serve as a liaison to business partner(s) for corporate and business support needs.
Ensure alignment and consistency of business plans with SBU and TVA strategy.
Conduct periodic reviews with business unit and sites to ensure progress towards stated goals
Drive personal continuous improvement efforts within positional responsibility. Participate and lead organizational continuous improvement activities.
Develop and maintain partnership with business partner(s) and support organizations by demonstrating and cultivating the TVA Values and core competencies.
Perform other duties supporting business operations, as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Education. – Bachelors degree or equivalent education, training and experience. Fields of study in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, STEM or related discipline, preferred.
Experience. – At least 4 years of related professional experience, with at least 3 years of electric utility experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities — Needs working knowledge of TVA processes, programs, and practices. Must have the ability to analyze complex technical and management problem and determine best solutions. Need skills to understand and perform economic and decision support analysis. Demonstrates and drives TVA competencies on a daily basis. Develops leadership competencies with coaching. Must be able to work independently on tasks, with the exception of the most complex issues. Must have strong technical computer skills, including advanced working knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint. Must be able and willing to travel to plant, corporate and satellite locations as needed. Candidate may be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance based on position / access requirements and essential job functions.
