Uses independent judgement to lead complex and/or high-profile projects and teams. This position is responsible for leading the standardization and coordination of performance improvement initiatives within assigned BU and coordination with other TVA BU’s on either FSV or Agency level initiatives. The incumbent will manage a wide variety of highly sensitive and visible special projects and will interact with Senior Leadership on a regular basis. This position will serve as a back-up or appointee of the SVP assigned BU on TVA cross organizational teams or Steering Committees and to interface with most other TVA BU’s at all organizational levels. Effectively prepares the SVP of assigned BU for critical meetings/interactions with internal and external stakeholders and provides counsel on business issues for Financial Services.

Lead the development and implementation of assigned BU organizational initiatives related to continuous improvement, performance initiatives and gap closure.
Manages a wide variety of high visibility and high impact projects and special assignments. Assignments will require a high degree of diplomacy and tact in addressing sensitive issues and concerns with senior level management.
Remains constantly aware and alert to emerging needs of assigned BU to take a proactive approach with regard to offered products and services.
Coordinate the policies, principles and rules that establish the expectations for high standards of performance and compliance for the assigned BU organization.
Responsible for communicating lessons learned across all assigned business units and FSV to ensure optimal organizational performance.
Support assigned BU functions identified as belonging to the SBU during Financial update of GOES, including business planning, portfolio planning, risk management, and in the identification of business drivers that impact budget variances.
Interface with Senior Management within assigned BU and other TVA organizations in support of TVA/FSV initiatives, processes, and implementation of initiatives. Represent assigned BU on cross-organizational teams and serve as a delegate on appropriate committees.
Participate in strategic planning and integration of TVA strategic imperatives into assigned BU functions and initiatives.
Responsible for supporting assigned BU in the development of employee communications including Keeping Current, memorandums, and websites.
Assists and advises the SVP of assigned BU regarding performance metrics, budget, business planning, variance analysis, financial reporting, compliance reviews, and managerial reporting. Serves as advisor to SVP of assigned BU and other FSV team members on various programmatic, projects and initiatives. Provides support to SVP of assigned BU on cross-organizational issues and special projects.
Other duties as required to support assigned BU and/or FSV as a whole.
Education — A Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, scientific, or related study or equivalent related education, training and experience. A Master’s degree is desirable.
Experience — 10 or more years of experience in the utility industry is desired.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities — Proven leadership skills with an ability to manage people across multiple organizations, as well as the demonstrated capability to interface and communicate with senior executives and external entities. Ability to interpret broad policy matters and provide overall direction and economic screening to a portfolio of programs. Strong commitment to TVA's mission, goals, expectations and philosophy.
